The Great Salt Lick Is an annual event is animal licked salt blocks auctioned as art. More than
$212,000--have gone to Parkinson's Research, OHSU.

Thanks for your participation! An annual unique event where animal sculpted salt lick are auctioned off for Parkinson's research. Ranchers or anyone with access to artistically licked blocks brings them and $1000 in prize money is given for best blocks, then the blocks are auctioned off as art, some block

s now going for over $1000! In seven years the auction has made over $50,000 which is damn heroic for a town of 10,000. More and more people however are coming from out of town for the event so there's great potential to be able to earn even more money. The auction will be held this year (Sept 20, 2014) at the old armory in Baker City.
