Artful Alchemy Fridays - Hand-Dyed Sigil Flags!

Learn to draw a sigil (that's a clever graphic shorthand for a prayer, mantra, or spell), and then transfer it to an 8" x 12" cotton flag. Then, we'll mix up Procion dyes and brush them on in watercolor fashion to create a bit of magical beauty to flutter in the breeze, indoors or out.

Thank you so much to everyone who participated in our America 250 Poster & Literary Contest! We had over 35 submissions, and they were all great!

If you would like to see the posters yourselves, take a walk downtown where they are hanging in the windows of participating businesses! If you would like to know where a specific poster is hanging, give Crossroads a call!

Poster below by Kate Loennig, winner of the 10-13 age category!

Artful Alchemy Fridays - Resin Flower Earrings & Charms!

Learn to make charms from dried flowers and then turn these into gorgeous earrings, and/or pendants. These are less chunky than charms made in molds, so they're light on the ears. Students who took the last class will learn things not previously taught (and may be pleased to hear we got more curing lamps)!

FREE SUMMER MEALS PROGRAM IS RETURNING!

Free, nutritious meals will be available to all children ages 18 and younger most weekdays Monday through Thursday throughout the summer, from June 15 through August 6, 2026.

A sack lunch and breakfast for the next day will be offered from 11:00am to 11:30am via the bus lane at Baker High School on E Street.

We will be using a drive-through model again this year, and walk-ups are also welcome.

No registration is necessary - just show up!

Children should be present to receive meals; however, we understand that may not always be possible. (For example, if a child is not feeling well.)

This year, we will not be offering meal purchases for adults.

Anyone who needs more information may contact Food Services Supervisor Amanda Dolby at the District Office by calling 541-524-2260.

Artful Alchemy Fridays - Pine Needle Baskets!

As promised, here it is again! Learn to make tiny baskets from simple materials. Once you know how, it’s a meditative way to while away a hot summer afternoon, and a perfect craft to take along on a camping trip, if you’re the sort who just wants to sit quietly under the trees while others chase fish or climb mountains.
