💛🖤 This one is going to be a little long… because there are a lot of people to thank. 🖤💛
As another incredible PVYL season comes to a close, we want to recognize the people who make this league so special.
First and foremost, our Commissioner, Mikey Mettler. ⚾
Mikey has dedicated years to Paint Valley Youth League, and it’s impossible to list everything he does because we’re guaranteed to miss something. He’s the first one at the park and usually the last one to leave. Whether he’s mowing, w**d eating, dragging fields, making repairs, grocery shopping for concessions (and making sure the kids’ favorite snacks are stocked), organizing schedules, or solving problems behind the scenes, he does it all with one goal in mind—to make sure nothing stands in the way of kids enjoying a summer of baseball with their friends.
To Mikey’s family—thank you. Sharing him with this league isn’t always easy, and we appreciate the countless hours you’ve sacrificed so PVYL can continue to thrive.
💛 A huge thank you to Lisa Wagoner and her family. Lisa is the heart of our concession stand and truly the “Park Mom.” She makes sure everyone is fed, hydrated, healthy, and taken care of. Whether you’re her player or not, she’s cheering your kids on like they’re her own.
⚾ Thank you to our outstanding umpires:
Luke Brooks, River Mettler, Bryce Blanton, Brock Blanton, Preston Fauber, Jase Rinehart, Ashton Lindeman, Mike Bobb, and John Free. Thank you for showing up, working hard, and helping make our games possible.
👏 To all of our coaches and your families—thank you for the countless hours spent teaching, encouraging, and investing in our players. Your impact reaches far beyond the baseball field.
🙌 To every volunteer who worked concessions, prepared fields, fried food, brought snacks, participated in fundraisers, sponsored events, or simply stepped in whenever help was needed—thank you. This league runs entirely on volunteers, and every contribution matters.
❤️ Finally, thank you to our Bainbridge community. I don’t think people truly realize how special this little village is. Time and time again, our community shows up for our kids—through sponsorships, donations, volunteering, and simply filling the stands to cheer them on. Your support is what makes Paint Valley Youth League more than just baseball. It’s a family.
Thank you for another unforgettable season. Here’s to the memories made, friendships built, and keeping America’s pastime alive for the next generation. ⚾💛🖤
See you next season!
