Congratulations to Jim and Tom for a resounding victory. I knew it was going to be a tough race, but honestly I thought it would have been a little closer. So, I am humbled by the results. I feel confident, though, that the loss was not due to any lack of effort, and not just by me, but by many people who stepped up to support me believing that I have something of value to offer to the district.

Everyone who supported us publicly did so at the risk that they would not end up on the winning team. But considering that this race was for the most part free from the mudslinging sadly expected in most political campaigns (yes, a few overzealous supporters on both sides ventured into some negative territory), I think everyone should be confident that there should be no repercussions for simply exercising their first amendment right to support the candidate they feel most aligns with their values.

I wish Jim the best of luck as he integrates into the board and contributes his wisdom and experience for the benefit of the district.

We could still use a few more volunteers to hold signs tomorrow for any length of time at any of the polling stations (The library, Gardiner, The Park, Centerville Mills, or Adams Hall in Auburn). If anyone wants to volunteer, please DM me.

I encountered many beautiful porches and courtyards along my way to knocking on many of your doors. It has been a great experience to see almost every nook and cranny of the district. I want to share a picture of one courtyard that I thought was so special I just had to take a picture, but this picture doesn't tell the whole story. Whoever cared for these trees over the years appears to have intentionally created the most amazing natural canopy over their courtyard, creating an amazing tranquil retreat.

On the night before the election, I want to thank all those people that have supported us and also offered to let us put signs in their yards (I will be coming by in the next few days to pick them up). We never could have reached so many people without all of your hard work and generosity. And, good luck to the other candidates.

We just finished grades 1 and 2 flag football for KCE over the weekend. I want to give a call out to coaches Stephen Wright and Dan Manning for teaching the kids great sportsmanship and football fundamentals. In particular I want to thank Stephen Wright for teaching the boys good character and absolutely making sure each kid got equal playing time and opportunities to try each position, regardless of their ability and regardless of the score. If there was a standard for embodying the spirit for what coaching kids is all about, it would be coach Steve.
