Bro. Roosevelt always amazes. A true Mason. While an imperfect man, he continually used the tools of our Craft to improve himself and the world around him.

December 10, 1906 - Theodore Roosevelt became the first American to win a Nobel Prize. Roosevelt was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for his work surrounding the Treaty of Portsmouth, which ended the Russo-Japanese War.

Roosevelt was made a Mason in Matinecock Lodge No.806, Oyster Bay, New York in 1901 - the year he began his service as President of the United States.

As most of the followers of this page are aware, one of the key aspects of Freemasonry is Charity. While the etymology leads us back to "Love", there are many ways that love may be manifested. Indeed, over the years it has transformed into benevolence. Where there is Love, Hope follows.

Hope, also a pillar of Freemasonry, inspires us to set out to achieve our dreams. It gives us that intangible energy and stamina to improve ourselves and better our world.

There are countless Masonic Charities in our cities, spread through our states, across our country, and indeed around the world.I would like to introduce you to the Masonic Cancer Center, University of Minnesota in Minnesota.

Our Little Free Pantry project has really been noticed by the community since the article in the newspaper.

With the increased usage, we are struggling to keep up with demand. We are starting a continuous food drive to keep the pantry stocked, and all excess donations will go to our friends Helpline House adding valuable resources to their food bank.

You are always welcome to stock the pantry yourself, and we will always accept donations in our container at the Bainbridge Island Masonic Center. We are also looking for a few business that would be interested in hosting a container to accept donations.

If you are interested, please drop us a line!
