🔭 What happens behind the scenes at Battle Point Observatory?

Volunteers maintain equipment, lead educational programs, welcome visitors, host stargazing events, and help keep community astronomy thriving on Bainbridge Island.

These experiences don't happen by accident—they happen because people care enough to support them.

Your donation through Bainbridge Gives helps keep programs like this available to our community and ensures future generations can continue exploring the universe right here on Bainbridge Island.

✨ Curious about the universe, but not sure where to start?

We often say BPAA is for the Cosmos Curious.

Whether you're attending a stargazing party, joining a Cosmic Conversation, exploring our educational programs, or simply wondering what's happening in the night sky, there's a place for you here.

No astronomy degree required.
No telescope required.
Just curiosity.

Your support through Bainbridge Gives helps keep community astronomy accessible, welcoming, and inspiring for everyone.

🪐Ever looked through a telescope and seen Saturn for the first time?
It's a moment many people never forget.

For decades, Battle Point Observatory has welcomed curious minds of all ages to explore the night sky through public stargazing parties, educational programs, telescope viewings, and community events.

Whether you're 8 or 80, there's something magical about seeing the rings of Saturn, the craters of the Moon, or distant galaxies with your own eyes.

That's why we do what we do.

Your support through Bainbridge Gives helps keep astronomy accessible, inspiring, and available to our community.

The Universe Belongs to Everyone.

Not just scientists.

Not just astronomers.

Not just people who already understand the night sky.

At Battle Point Observatory, we believe wonder should be accessible to everyone — from lifelong stargazers to those who are simply curious about what lies beyond our world.

Your support through Bainbridge Gives helps us provide astronomy education, STEAM programming, planetarium experiences, school outreach, and opportunities for people of all ages to connect with the universe.

Whether you've attended a telescope viewing, visited the observatory, brought a child to a program, or simply looked up at the stars and felt inspired, we invite you to help us continue that work.

✨ Help keep wonder, science, and discovery accessible to our community.

Walter, the defender of dark skies, in action!
Today was his debut at the Bainbridge Island Farmer's Market. Super big thanks to Kelly Roberts for helping out. Many members of the Battle Point Astronomical Association helped to make this a successful event.

Happy International Dark Sky week to you!

Mark your calendars. This is a Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday evening event.
