🍂 It was one of the busiest weekends of the year for those out enjoying Park County, and the same can be said for our team! We kicked things off Friday with 5 members attending the annual SARCON conference hosted in Breck by our partners at Colorado Search and Rescue Association - CSAR and CommonSpirit - Flight for Life. Team members attended lectures and hands-on sessions including one on advanced drone operations with ariel supply drops. Mid-way through the 2nd day of the conference we received a call from Dispatch about a hiker deep in the Lost Creek Wilderness unable to continue his hike. 2 PCSAR technicians were inserted via Flight for Life and assessed the subject was declining rapidly so an evacuation utilizing a UH-60 Blackhawk asset at Colorado National Guard was requested and approved. Our subject was then transported to a hospital and is making a speedy recovery. Finally, on Sunday 9 team members trained on ATV and UTV operations in the Weston Pass area so we can be ready to ride for the next call! Phew, busy few days! We would like to extend gratitude to the Colorado National Guard Hoist Rescue Team and to Flight for Life, who went above and beyond making 4 different flights into the Wilderness on this call. The outcome of our Saturday mission could have been very, very different without their amazing support! 🚁 🩺 👊🏼
