We are so excited about the new Badin Walking Tours! Please check them out! Badin has so much interesting history to share!

Badin Historic Museum is proud to announce the launch of a new FREE tour app for Badin! We've partnered with the STQRY App storytelling platform to create these experiences that we hope will enable everyone to enjoy this lovely town and its rich history. The three tours of historic Badin can be viewed from home on a computer or via the app downloaded onto a smart phone. The first tour is a walking tour which includes an interactive map that will lead you through the streets of Badin and includes historic photos, oral history audios, and detailed narratives. But all three tours take you on a journey you can even enjoy from home. See the graphic for QR codes to download the app, and also the web address to view on a computer browser.

Congratulations to Jane and Gary Rife for being our first winners of the Better Badin Yard of the Month program! The Rife's yard, filled with beautiful flowers and whimsical features, is the result of hard work and an enjoyment for all who pass by.

The Town of Badin is pleased to announce the official award of the Rural Economic Development Grant from the state of NC for $250,000. This money along with the many private donations received will be used to renovate the old hospital into a state of the art meeting and community center which will be a great asset for the town.

Many thanks go out to all who helped make this happen. Stay tuned for updates on timelines and progress. We hope to have construction underway in a couple of months and completion near the end of the year.

This project combined with the new urgent care clinic will bring the building back to its former glory and complete the goal of full restoration.

Better Badin is excited to be part of this special community celebration from 4:00–7:00 PM. Stop by our booth to learn more about local volunteer opportunities, make a friendship bracelet, and let the kids enjoy some coloring activities.

The event will also feature food, entertainment, vendors, and more, hosted by the event organizers. It’s a wonderful opportunity to come together, celebrate culture, community, and history, and enjoy an afternoon with friends and neighbors.

Lupus affects millions — and so many carry it quietly. This Sunday, Better Badin is walking for them.

Join us for an educational talk with , founder of Butterflies of Hope. I had the pleasure of speaking with her and learning of her story recently and was so inspired by her desire to help the local Stanly County lupus community by providing community resources, and most of all a space to share experiences.

Grab your favorite purple shirt and come and learn about Butterflies of Hope with us at 3:00PM this Sunday, May 31st, in support of our local community, with an optional self-paced walk around beautiful Badin. All are welcome. 🦋

Community has always been at the heart of what we do — and this summer, we’re especially grateful to partner with local voices creating meaningful change right here in Stanly County.

We’re honored to welcome S’era McCall of Butterflies of Hope as part of our upcoming Sip & Stroll focused on lupus awareness and education. After being diagnosed with lupus in 2013, S’era recognized the lack of local resources and support available for those navigating autoimmune disease and caregiving. Through Butterflies of Hope, she’s passionate about creating a safe space for education, connection, advocacy, and support — while helping dispel the misconceptions so many people with invisible illnesses face every day. 💜

Join us for an afternoon of movement, conversation, education, and community support.

• or come along for our ~2 mile moderate walk through town
