Better Badin is excited to be part of this special community celebration from 4:00–7:00 PM. Stop by our booth to learn more about local volunteer opportunities, make a friendship bracelet, and let the kids enjoy some coloring activities.

The event will also feature food, entertainment, vendors, and more, hosted by the event organizers. It’s a wonderful opportunity to come together, celebrate culture, community, and history, and enjoy an afternoon with friends and neighbors.

Lupus affects millions — and so many carry it quietly. This Sunday, Better Badin is walking for them.

Join us for an educational talk with , founder of Butterflies of Hope. I had the pleasure of speaking with her and learning of her story recently and was so inspired by her desire to help the local Stanly County lupus community by providing community resources, and most of all a space to share experiences.

Grab your favorite purple shirt and come and learn about Butterflies of Hope with us at 3:00PM this Sunday, May 31st, in support of our local community, with an optional self-paced walk around beautiful Badin. All are welcome. 🦋

As we wrap up Memorial Day weekend, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. ❤️🤍💙

Community has always been at the heart of what we do — and this summer, we’re especially grateful to partner with local voices creating meaningful change right here in Stanly County.

We’re honored to welcome S’era McCall of Butterflies of Hope as part of our upcoming Sip & Stroll focused on lupus awareness and education. After being diagnosed with lupus in 2013, S’era recognized the lack of local resources and support available for those navigating autoimmune disease and caregiving. Through Butterflies of Hope, she’s passionate about creating a safe space for education, connection, advocacy, and support — while helping dispel the misconceptions so many people with invisible illnesses face every day. 💜

Join us for an afternoon of movement, conversation, education, and community support.

We gather at 3:00 PM at Badin Coffee to sip, chat, and catch up before heading out promptly at 3:30 PM. Whether you want to:
• stay and socialize
• skip the walk and just enjoy the company
• join a light stroll
• or come along for our ~2 mile moderate walk through town

…there’s a place for you here.

Along the way, you may even discover a little more about Badin — its history, local businesses, future projects, and the people helping shape our community.

No pressure. No pace requirements. Just movement, connection, and community. 🤍

Rain couldn’t keep us away ☁️ ☀️ it cleared just in time for a lovely afternoon!

Thank you to everyone who came out for our very first Sip & Stroll — it meant so much to meet so many new people and connect in the community through movement. This is exactly what we hoped this group would become.

A special thank you to Heather from for leading such a beautiful (and free!) kickoff class for us. We’re so grateful to have you and such a treat for us to share a class on the village green together.

was a wonderful tour guide today, taking everyone into for a tour inside such a beautiful community staple before we walked around their disc golf course. It’s so beautiful.

We’ll be walking weekly from here on out, and we’d love for this to grow with you — if there’s a better time that works for your schedule, let us know!

This week is National Volunteer Week — and it feels like the perfect moment to pause and reflect on what makes a community truly special.

Better Badin has never just been about events, projects, or ideas — it’s about people. The neighbors who show up early, stay late, lend a hand, share stories, and care deeply about the place we all call home.

I’ve had the privilege of meeting so many of you through this work — learning your histories, hearing your hopes, and watching the way you quietly (and sometimes not so quietly) make Badin better every day.

Community doesn’t build itself. It’s built through connection, effort, and the willingness to show up for one another.

So to everyone who has volunteered time, energy, ideas, or support — thank you. You are the heart behind everything we do. 🤍

And if you’ve been thinking about getting involved, there’s always a place for you here.
