Calling all Writers, Poets, and Artists!
APU's Literary Journal, the West Wind, is accepting submissions for its 2016-2017 edition! This is an exciting chance for you to get your prose, poetry, or 2D Art out into the open.
The West Wind is open to all students, faculty, and staff, and there is no submission cost. If you are selected to be published, you will receive your own bound copy of the journal, with your work printed inside, at a celebration event for the West Wind to be held next Spring.
We accept works in these categories:
- Fiction
- Non-Fiction
- Poetry
- 2D Art
The submission deadline is Monday, October 24th. If you can't make this deadline, we have a Spring submission period that you may also submit to!
Details:
- Submit your work to [email protected] to be considered.
- Submissions must be in Word .doc/.docx format.
- The Subject Line MUST look like this: "TITLE - GENRE."
- DO NOT include your name in the piece.
- Limit of one piece per genre per person, except for poetry--you may submit up to three pieces.
- Fiction and Non-fiction pieces are limited to 2,000 words. If the piece is excellent, we will consider longer ones.
- 2D artwork, if selected, will be printed in black and white.
- If you are involved in a Creative Writing class, ask your professor if you can submit to the West Wind as a part of your submission requirement! There's also rumors that some teachers give extra credit for submitting to the West Wind...
Thank you, and happy submitting!
