Celebrating Azle Lions Club’s 25th Anniversary with our annual golf tournament. 19 teams showed up this morning to support our fundraising event which benefits our outreach programs-the school supply/backpacks, Angel Tree, eye glasses for kids, Blessing Box, and high school scholarships.

Club president Brandon Reese presented the $1000 scholarships to Katie Ann Hoyt and Parker King.

We want to wish these graduates much success in their future.

Texas Lions District 2-E2 Opportunities for Youth Contest winners from the Azle LC include AHS junior Kobie Torgeson. He placed 1st in the Drug Awareness Speech-$3000 and Diabetic Essay Contest-$2000. And, ACS junior Hallie Collins placed 3rd in the Diabetic Essay Contest-$1000.

During our April business meeting, Deborah Cottle, zone chair and
Mike Lueckenhoff, 1st vice district governor were our guests and helped us to recognize our 25-year Charter Members.

TJ Wright, Billie Wright, Desiree Wright, and Rebecca McNutt were recognized in April. And, Kathy NeSmith was recognized in May.

Curren McLane was recognized as a 15-year member.

There will be a Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) SPECIALIST in the lobby of the Community Caring Center from 12pm to 4pm, MONDAY, 5/11/26. Appointments are not necessary.
Ms. Alonso will help navigate SNAP eligibility, fill out forms, and submit your documentation.
SNAP, formerly known as food stamps, is the largest federal nutrition assistance program in the US. It provides monthly funds via an Electronic Benefits Transfer card to low-income individuals and families to purchase eligible, unprepared food items.
If you stop by for assistance in registering for SNAP benefits, please be prepare to provide:
A valid photo ID (driver’s license, state ID, or similar)
Social Security numbers (or proof of application) for all household members applying
Proof of residence (lease, utility bill, or official mail with their name and address)
Proof of income (recent pay stubs, employer statement, unemployment benefits, Social Security, etc.)
Proof of expenses, if applicable (rent/mortgage, utilities, childcare, medical expenses for elderly or disabled members),
Immigration documents, if applicable.

The Azle Lions Club is hosting a Golf Tournament on June 3rd. All proceeds benefit the kids in Azle via our school supply backpack program, Christmas Angel Tree program, and the blessing box. Please gather a team of 4 and come out for a great day on the Cross Timbers Golf Course. If you can’t golf please consider being a sponsor.
