We sadly received the update that Armando Marquez, Toccoa Man who trained at Camp Toccoa, proud member of the Regimental Demolition Platoon, the 506th and the 101st Airborne Division, made his final jump today.

We sent him some shout outs from Toccoa on his 102nd birthday but made the ultimate shoutout from his battlefield and memorial at Brévands just outside Carentan.

Armando and his brother Mike actually served in the the same squad at times during the war, making their story very unique.

We have Martha Marquez and the entire family in our prayers today.

May you Rest in Peace, Armando. Thank you for leading the way for all of us.

The All Airborne Battalion is proud to announce the official launch of the Malvin L. Brown Chapter of the Samuel Council 555th Parachute Infantry Association (PIA), a partnership years in the making. Fulfilling a promise made to the SER Leadership to do all we can to honor the impact and legacy of the 555th Parachute Infantry Company and Battalion.

From our Operation Firefly 2024 to our recent commemorations in Normandy, we are proud to be a part of the efforts to raise awareness to the story of the Triple Nickles. We are continuing to love the legacy of these men, fundraising for a Triple Nickles Memorial Statue and doing all we can to ensure that the legacy of these trailblazing paratroopers never fades.

Our members Larry and Tony Martinez, representing their grandfather and great grandfather respectively, during the 90th Infantry Division and 82nd Airborne Division Ceremony at Gourbesville. Pedro Martinez, 344th Field Artillery Battalion, 90th Infantry Division.

The ceremony and day was dedicated to Pedro and his service. His family and our team continues to live his legacy.

Thank you Virgil Tangborn for your service and sacrifice. We will continue to honor you and your legacy as well. Lest we forget.

D-Day 82nd Anniversary: Connect
The story of PFC Virgil Tangborn 📯

Growing up with no electricity or running water and the oldest of 6 children, PFC Virgil Tangborn enlisted as a French horn player in 1942. He performed for troops in England until he was called to the war as a medic.

On June 14, 1944, his company advanced between Amfreville and Gourbesville. As they got closer, a shell hit a nearby munitions truck. Tangborn and two other members rushed to help the injured driver. They were working to save him when a second shell landed, killing Virgil.

Following this year’s ceremony at a site dedicated to Tangborn, our French Horn player connected with the grandson of a veteran who also fought here. We are forever indebted to the greatest generation, and will remember PFC Tangborn’s bravery as we return home.

251 years ago, the Continental Army was formed by the Continental Congress, Congress authorized the formation of ten companies of expert riflemen from Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Virginia, which were directed to march to Boston to support the New England militia during the fight against the British.

Since then our Army has fought to defend this great nation against its adversaries. From Lexington and Concord, to current operations. Famed for its deeds in war and renowned for its readiness in peace.

The Army continues to stand ready to support and defend the Constitution of our great Nation and meet any enemy on the field of battle that may threaten it.

Happy Birthday to our brothers and sisters still serving and our veterans who led the way. Happy Flag day to those that are proud of the banner that signifies hope and freedom to Liberty loving people everywhere.

First pass of personnel over the Pathfinder Drop Zone “A” at Saint-Germain-de-Varreville on June 8th, 2026, honoring those bold Pathfinders who came before us.

The 502nd Pathfinders of the 101st Airborne Division, led by Capt. Frank Lillyman, and flown by pilots Lt. Col. Joel Crouch and Capt. Vito Pedone in C-47 “Gooney Bird,” were the first to jump during Operation Neptune’s Mission Albany. The aircraft flew a mere fifty feet off the ground to avoid detection by German radar.

This was the first Drop Zone employed on D-Day aside from the OSS missions that preceded the main invasion.

Lest we forget these men and may their legacy never fade.

Well after two scratches we were finally blessed with weather that enabled us to jump in honor of the 82nd Anniversary of the Day of Days.

We had many special items jumped into this drop zone, the 101st Airborne Division Pathfinder DZ at Saint-Germain-de-Varreville:

-Piece of Jack Agnew’s parachute from D-Day.
-Mike Ranney’s original jump wings.
-The Mayoral Sash of the late Mayor Jean-Marc Darthenay.
-Numerous flags, patches and coins that our jumpers will distribute to our friends and family around the world.

Claude the Cow from Chick-fil-A Toccoa also got his knees in the breeze!

Thank you to all those who made our airborne mission today possible. Until next time, Normandy!
