We are at the final stretch, but we cannot cross the finish line alone. 💔

Haven Paws Dog Rescue is working to close out our remaining veterinary balances and properly finish the care of the final dogs in our program.

I have fought for these dogs, said yes when they had nowhere else to go, and promised them that their story would not end in a shelter or on the streets.

Now we need our community to help us keep that promise.

These are not bills we can simply ignore. These veterinary partners have gone above and beyond for dogs who desperately needed them, and we have a responsibility to pay what we owe.

A FINAL UPDATE FROM HAVEN PAWS DOG RESCUE 🩷

As many of you know, Haven Paws Dog Rescue has been transitioning away from active rescue operations as I focus on my family.

I have spent years doing everything I could for animals, families, friends, community members, and fellow organizations—often going above and beyond, including financially sacrificing within my own one-income household.

I am incredibly grateful for the fosters, volunteers, donors, trainers, veterinarians, and rescues who have genuinely supported Haven Paws along the way. There are people who showed up with nothing but pure intentions, and I will always be thankful for them.

At the same time, rescue has taught me some very difficult lessons. Animal welfare can be beautiful, but it can also be incredibly ugly. I have experienced situations where help was later used against me, my efforts were discredited, and relationships I once valued became unhealthy.

I am no longer willing to sacrifice my mental wellbeing or my family for rescue.
My two and a half year old and my two month old need their mama fully present. That is where my priority belongs now.

The LAST TWO babies under Haven Paws Dog Rescue will be heading North on September 11th.

I am still urgently looking for a temporary foster from August 29th–September 11th to take one final ride with myself and HPDR.

You will continue to see donation posts from Haven Paws. While our intake and active rescue operations are ending, we still have outstanding obligations that must be paid. Currently, we have approximately $4,812 owed to BluePearl and $910 owed to the county. These are bills I cannot personally cover, and donations are the only way I can close them out responsibly.

Every donation, no matter the amount, will go directly toward helping Haven Paws fulfill those remaining obligations and officially close this chapter.

After these final two dogs leave, please respect that Haven Paws Dog Rescue will not be taking new animal-in-need requests.

✨ Please do not tag me, contact me, or refer people to me for animals needing rescue, surrender, placement, or assistance. I will not be responding to those requests.

This does not mean I stopped caring about animals.

It means I am finally putting my children and my family first.

Okay Haven Paws family, we have a very specific ask for Blue & Charlie. 💙💙

Jessica with K9 Life Coaching and Training Solutions opened her enclosures when the Raptor Pack needed somewhere safe to land.
Their sisters have since moved into their foster-to-adopt homes, but the boys are still hanging out with Jessica.

𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗬 𝗗𝗢 𝗛𝗔𝗩𝗘 𝗧𝗢 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗬 𝗧𝗢𝗚𝗘𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥.
Blue. 💙 Charlie. 💙

But there is one VERY important part of this sleepover:

Whoever fosters the boys during this time must be able to get them to that appointment.

We need our Haven Paws community to help us get 𝗕𝗟𝗨𝗘 & 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗥𝗟𝗜𝗘 into foster homes. 💙💙

And just to make this VERY clear:

One foster can take Blue.
Another foster can take Charlie. 🙌

Their upcoming 𝘃𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗲𝗱 through Haven Paws Rescue.

Our partner trainer, Jessica with K9 Life Coaching and Training Solutions, stepped up temporarily to give all four members of the Raptor Pack somewhere safe to land while also giving them one heck of a head start on training. ❤️🐾

And these boys haven't just been hanging out at Jurassic Park. 🤣

They've been LEARNING!

🐾 𝗣𝗼𝘁𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 — they've built a solid potty routine
🐾 𝗖𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴, meaning you say CRATE and they go to their individual enclosures
🐾 𝗖𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 — calm before that crate door opens
🐾 𝗦𝗜𝗧
🐾 𝗗𝗢𝗪𝗡
🐾 𝗠𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 — yes, Raptors CAN learn to eat from their own bowls 🤣
🐾 They have learned, 𝗚𝗢 𝗧𝗢 𝗕𝗘𝗗
🐾 And most importantly, they're learning how to 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗞, settle and make better choices

Are they finished?

Of course not — 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗬'𝗥𝗘 𝗣𝗨𝗣𝗣𝗜𝗘𝗦! 😂🦖

But someone isn't starting at square one with these boys. Jessica has already laid the groundwork. Now they need fosters who can continue it.

Echo and Delta have moved into their foster-to-adopt enclosures.

𝗡𝗢𝗪 𝗪𝗘 𝗡𝗘𝗘𝗗 𝗧𝗢 𝗚𝗘𝗧 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗕𝗢𝗬𝗦 𝗠𝗢𝗩𝗜𝗡𝗚.

Jessica cannot keep Blue and Charlie indefinitely. She has puppies waiting to come in to K9 Life, for scheduled boot camps, and those training spaces need to become available.

Blue and Charlie are ready for their next step.

They just need 𝗧𝗪𝗢 𝗣𝗘𝗢𝗣𝗟𝗘 willing to open their homes — one Raptor at a time. 🦖💙

🐾 WELL… RESCUE CALLED. AND THIS TIME, IT WASN’T A DOG. 🦎

If you know Haven Paws, you know we are a dog rescue. We are not, nor will we be, a reptile rescue.

But when this sweet girl came to us, we simply couldn’t walk away.
She came from a home where she had no proper housing or appropriate setup. Her enclosure even had cigarette ashes embedded into the frame. 💔

Leopard geckos are desert animals with very specific environmental needs, and it was clear that she had not been getting what she needed.
So we called in someone who knows reptiles, learned what she needed, and got her the proper setup to give her a safe, clean, healthy place to live.

That unexpected trip to the specialist and everything she needed cost HPDR $200.
And honestly? We’d do it again.

Because sometimes rescue isn't about whether an animal fits perfectly into your mission.
Sometimes it's simply about seeing an animal who is struggling and saying:
“I can't leave you like this.” ❤️

🦎 BUT—LET US BE VERY CLEAR:
This girl is our one and done scaly friend. 😂
HPDR will NOT be taking in reptiles or expanding into reptile rescue. Our mission is still focused on dogs and, more importantly, on keeping pets with the families who love them.

And that brings us to where we really need your help.

We currently have multiple outstanding bills that need to be paid so that we can get HPDR back on solid ground and continue moving forward.
Our goal isn't to become an overcrowded rescue ourselves.

Our goal is to help families in our community before surrender becomes their only option—whether that means helping with vetting, resources, education, or connecting them with the right support with K9 Life Coaching and Training Solutions

Because sometimes a family doesn't need to give up their pet.
They just need a little help getting through a hard season. 🌿

The Raptor Pack may be down to two, but 𝗕𝗟𝗨𝗘 & 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗥𝗟𝗜𝗘 have been BUSY! 🙌

Our remaining Raptors have officially started learning the beginnings of 𝗚𝗢 𝗧𝗢 𝗕𝗘𝗗 with the help of our partner trainer, K9 Life Coaching and Training Solutions. 🐾

And these two are a perfect example of why puppies — even littermates — don’t always learn the same way.

🦖💙 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗥𝗟𝗜𝗘 𝗜𝗦 𝗔𝗩𝗔𝗜𝗟𝗔𝗕𝗟𝗘 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗔𝗗𝗢𝗣𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡.

Welllll… we have a little change of plans for our boy Blue!

Blue had a potential opportunity lined up, but unfortunately, things just weren’t able to work out.

𝗡𝗢 𝗙𝗔𝗨𝗟𝗧 𝗢𝗙 𝗔𝗡𝗬𝗢𝗡𝗘. ❤️

Sometimes things simply don’t come together the way we hoped they would.

So that means…

💙🦖 𝗕𝗟𝗨𝗘 𝗜𝗦 𝗢𝗙𝗙𝗜𝗖𝗜𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗬 𝗕𝗔𝗖𝗞 𝗨𝗣 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗔𝗗𝗢𝗣𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡!

And Charlie would like everyone to know that HE NEVER LEFT THE TABLE. 🤣🤣🦖

So here we are:

Both boys have spent the past week with our partner trainer, 𝗞𝟵 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 & 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, getting one heck of a head start.

They’ve been working on potty routines, crate training, mealtime manners, basic behaviors, boundaries and — of course — learning that listening ears are occasionally required equipment. 🤣

They’re smart.

They’re learning.

They’re confident little explorers.

And they’re 𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗𝗬 for their own people. ❤️🐾

🚨🐾 PUPPY PLAY PEN NEEDED ! 🐾🚨

We have a little situation on our hands… and we could REALLY use our village! 🥹🐶💕

We are desperately in need of a large, sturdy puppy play pen to help safely contain our pups while giving them room to play, potty, eat, sleep, and be… well, puppies! 😂🐾

A proper playpen will help keep these babies safe, supervised, and out of trouble while making life a whole lot easier for our trainer!
