💛Alumni Spotlight: Colin Penn '16 💙

Congratulations to Colin on being named one of the Martinsville-Henry County Chamber of Commerce’s 40 Under 40 recipients!

After graduating from Carlisle, he attended Hampden-Sydney College, where he played collegiate soccer while earning a degree in Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics.

Today, Colin works in the IT field at Piedmont Community Services, where he assists with technology support, onboarding, cybersecurity, and documentation. He has served in his role for more than three years and continues to make a positive impact in the community.

We are proud to celebrate Colin and this well-deserved recognition!

Congratulations to Hillary Robinson, recipient of the 2026 Francis T. West Chair for Teaching Excellence! 🎉

Mrs. Robinson's passion for teaching, positive spirit, and dedication to her students make her truly deserving of this honor. Known for her warm smile and encouraging nature, she is a constant source of support for both students and colleagues across campus.

She brings learning to life by incorporating hands-on experiences and a love of nature into her classroom, inspiring curiosity and a lifelong love of learning in her students. Mrs. Robinson also played a key role in bringing STEAM classes back to the Middle School and continues to encourage innovation through the launch of Carlisle’s first Science and Engineering Fair.

Beyond the classroom, she faithfully serves on multiple school committees and is often found behind the camera capturing special moments around campus. Her enthusiasm, creativity, and commitment to Carlisle School make a lasting impact on our community each and every day.

Since joining the Carlisle family in 2009, Mrs. Gunn has demonstrated unwavering dedication, compassion, and loyalty to our school community. Through her tireless work ethic, endless support of students, and commitment to creating a safe and caring learning environment, she has made a lasting impact on countless children and families.

Whether she is spending extra time tutoring students, encouraging them through challenges, or ensuring every child feels supported and capable of success, Mrs. Gunn embodies the very heart of Carlisle School. Her kindness, selflessness, and love for our community do not go unnoticed.
