Meet the Director Suewong McFadden, she is a dynamic and accomplished educator based in Phoenix, Arizona, with roots tracing back to the vibrant city of Durham, North Carolina. in Theatre Education from the esteemed North Carolina

Central University in 2016. Her commitment to academic excellence led her to obtain an MAT in Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Phoenix in October 2022.

​With over nine years of experience in the education field, McFadden remains dedicated to ensuring that every child attains the highest quality educational experience. Born in the Bronx, New York, and raised in Lexington, North Carolina, McFadden graduated from Lexington Senior High in 2009. Her passion for mentorship and community engagement emerged during her time in Durham, where she served as a mentor to children in the local community.

​In 2017, McFadden embarked on her teaching career at Bethesda Elementary, earning a Principal Award for her tenacity as a Beginner Teacher. Her exceptional educational approach resulted in annual requests for classroom placement by both parents and colleagues. McFadden's impact extended to a low-income area, addressing the academic needs of at-risk students with data-driven strategies, rigorous learning, and targeted interventions.

💜✨ Year 2 Complete. What a Journey. ✨💜

Two years ago, Suewong McFadden Academy was a vision, a dream, and a leap of faith.

Today, as we celebrate the completion of our second year, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for every student, family, volunteer, supporter, and community partner who has been part of this journey.

This year was filled with growth, challenges, victories, field trips, new experiences, academic achievements, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Through it all, our students continued to shine and remind us why this work matters.

As I looked around the room during our End-of-Year Celebration, I didn’t just see students and families—I saw a community. A community that believed in something different. A community that chose to reimagine education.

Thank you to our founding and returning families for trusting us with your children. Thank you to our students for showing up every day ready to learn, grow, and explore.

Year 2 is officially in the books. 📚

From Q1 to Q3, our students have:

This growth didn’t happen overnight.
