Beep Patrol 4H--First Robotics Teams is having a camp at Gangplank in Avondale all next week.
Info about the event from Beep Patrol.
Hello neighbors! This summer your local robotics crew is hosting an engineering camp to teach kids 7-14 EV3 robot basics, programming basics using sensors, line following, and strategy for the FIRST Lego League game. The camp also demonstrates the NASA design process and engineering principles through engaging and fun activities.
WHAT IS BEEP PATROL?
Beep Patrol is a community based 4-H Robotics Club. Through our local robotics program, approximately 20 students who participate in FIRST Tech Challenge are given the opportunity to design, build, program, and operate a large robot for competitive international challenges. Our club enables students to learn many skills including Java programming, robot design, problem-solving, finance, plan development, project management, teamwork, and community networking. Developing these skills in high school helps prepare our students for college experiences and professional careers.
WHAT IS FIRST?
FIRST ® (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) is a program developed to get kids and young adults motivated and inspired in STEM. FIRST was founded in 1989 by inventor Dean Kamen to inspire young people’s interest and participation in science and technology.
WHAT ARE THE ROBOTS MADE FROM?
FIRST Lego League and Jr. FIRST Lego League build autonomous robots using Legos and are programmed with block-based programming, similar to Scratch
