Light my spirit is a multi-layered movement that teaches, motivates, and supports your joyful lifestyle.

Light My Spirit (LMS) is a nonprofit 501(c) 3 organization. Our intention is to provide a safe space for:

Discovery ~ Be open to new ideas, take some risks, and release your best self

Creative expression ~ Create music or beautiful craft objects and delight in the freedom of your expression

Spiritual connection ~ Be filled up spiritually, experience mindfulness through meditation, drumming, or dancing

Relaxation ~ Take quiet time for yourself to reflect, try yoga, or meditation

Connection ~ Behold the richness and depth of others through volunteering, and circle discussions and small group interaction

Fun ~ Expect to laugh a lot

What if it could look like creating, dancing, cooking, storytelling, ritual, music, laughter, and gathering around a table?

Rooted in Remembrance is a five-day ancestral retreat in Mérida, Yucatán, created as an invitation to explore where we come from—and what we carry forward.

Through creativity, culture, ceremony, movement, food, storytelling, and the traditions of Hanal Pixán, we’ll honor those who came before us by remembering not only how they left this world, but how they lived.

There will be space for reflection, but also for joy. For beauty. For questions. For connection. For celebration.

Sometimes we carry more than memories from the generations before us.

We may carry silence.

Rooted in Remembrance is an intimate women’s retreat created to explore ancestry, legacy, and the patterns we may be carrying without even realizing it.

This is not about blaming the women who came before us.

It is about honoring their strength while becoming conscious of what we no longer want to pass forward.

We will gather in Mérida during the sacred season of Hanal Pixán to remember, reflect, honor our ancestors, and ask a powerful question:

What ends with me?

What cycle am I ready to interrupt?
What belief no longer belongs in my story?
What do I want the generations after me to inherit instead?

We can honor where we come from without repeating every part of the story.
