We finished last week by honoring a teacher making the selfless decision to donate an organ. Her students took it upon themselves to plan a celebration including cards, a care package, decorating the room, and an end of day "Clap Out". Students and staff lined the halls to clap as this teacher walked the length of the building. It was a heartwarming sight to see and the entire Butler community is keeping her in our thoughts and wishing her a speedy recovery.

Update: Mrs.Schofield did great and is home comfortably resting with her family. The AEA is sending best wishes for a healthy recovery💙🧡

Hi All!

Exciting news! Due to all of our persevering, organizing, and teamwork, we have reached tentative agreements across all remaining outstanding issues during this contract. Due to this, we are CANCELING the Walking Rally scheduled for tomorrow 2/28, and our attendance at the subsequent School Committee Meeting.
We would like to thank the AMAZING community of Avon for all of your support! Thank you for joining us to support our educators and students!

180 DAYS! Today marks 180 days without a contract! The equivalent of a full school year!
Our next mediation meeting is tonght at 4 pm. At the last meeting we were able to make movement towards a contract. The AEA has also moved 2% in 2 meetings while the district has only moved (0.5%). The AEA is optimistic going into our meeting tonight and hoping the district is too. We will continue to work for a fair contract to retain teachers and attract new teachers to our district. FAIR CONTRACT NOW!
