When we started A Heart For Korah, we knew nothing about starting or running a 501c3. All
We knew was we wanted to help the people in Korah, so we figured it out with the help of many. Korah is a community of 100,000 on the outskirts of Ethiopia’s capital city, Addis Ababa. Korah is a trash dump. people that call the trash dump home, Early on we decided that our goal was to start the ministry grow it some and then pass it on so it could continue growing. After 12.5 years, we are doing just that. A Heart For Korah will be dissolved and a new organization will be taking over, MOHI (Missions Of Hope International) https://mohiafrica.org
They are based out of Kenya and have been doing ministry for over 20 years. They will be starting a Christian school for the children in Korah and also programs for families and income generation.
Not all our current families will qualify for the new ministry because they don’t have a child, but we will help them find a program that fits their needs as best as we can.
To each one of you that has supported AHFK over the years, you have made a tremendous impact. From monthly food, milk, rent, school uniforms, special holiday meals, blankets/coal and income generation. You allowed us to do more than many other nonprofits This isn’t good-bye, this is a transfer of love. MOHI is ready to take the baton and continue pouring into a community that needs our involvement. I am excited to see all that MOHI will do and I hope you’ll consider joining them. Their website has all the information on their ministry and how you can help. https://mohiafrica.org
If you are a monthly sponsors, August 31st will be our last day of operations. Your August donation will be used for your family’s final distribution, so please don’t stop your sponsorship prior to September 1st.
It’ll cost roughly $11,000 for us to close the nonprofit and pay all of our employees severance, so if you feel led to do one final tax deductible donation. Visit our website www.aheartforkorah.com
