Avon Dollars for Scholars

Avon Dollars for Scholars Since our founding, we have awarded more than $2 million in scholarships. Avon Dollars for Scholars was founded by leaders of the Rotary Club of Avon-Canton.

In 1975, we became a chapter affiliate of Scholarship America, a nationally recognized, non-profit student aid service organization. Since our founding, we have awarded more than $2 million in scholarships to some of Avon's most deserving students. Avon Dollars for Scholars is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, tax exempt foundation. The all volunteer Board of Directors is composed of local residents, educators and business people who are dedicated to education.

$2,500 Scholarship to celebrate Avon 250

Avon Dollars for Scholars is proud to announce the Commemorative Avon 250 Scholarship to help celebrate the Avon 250 festivities happening this year as part of the America 250 celebrations.

This scholarship is open to graduating seniors in either the class of 2026, or the class of 2027. You must graduate from Avon High School or be an Avon resident to be eligible for this scholarship.

Scholarships available for graduating Avon seniors. Apply now online. Deadline is March 27, 2026

Avon Dollars for Scholars scholarship deadline is March 27th. Applicants must be a resident of Avon or attend Avon High School. Last year we awarded over $80,000 to deserving Avon Seniors. This year we hope to award even more. We have scholarships based on need as well as merit. There are scholarships for community service, music and performing arts, sports, specific career goals such as architecture, environmental science, education, and STEM, among many others. Harlem Wizards last night at Avon High School - great fun was had by all and our board member, Rachel Pellegrini, who organized the event for us, even scored 3 baskets! Thank you everyone who attended, Avon Public School teachers who played and our sponsors Avon Police Association, Carmon Funeral Home and Family Center, Connecticut Dance Academy and Lisa’s Luna Pizza.
