Looking for some fun family plans this weekend? Come join us! ⚜️✨

Our Cub Scout Pack 122 family is growing, and summer is our favorite time to welcome new friends. We have two great community events lined up, and we'd love for your family to hang out with us—completely casual, no pressure!
Here is where we will be:

🇺🇸⚜️ Friday (June 26) @ 4:00 PM
We’re hosting a booth at the Avon & Farmington CT 250 Celebration (Thompson Rd Recreation Area)! Bring the kids by to build and race Lego Pinewood Derby cars on our track or check out our camp setup. It’s a huge community event with fireworks at night!

🍦🥾 Saturday (June 27) @ 11:30 AM
Meet us at Town Forest Park in West Simsbury for a casual family nature walk. We’ll stretch our legs and head over to the Tulmeadow Farm Store ice cream window together!

Our Pack is open to boys and girls entering grades K-5. If you've been curious about Scouting or just want to meet some local families, please come say hi this weekend!

🍦 SUMMER ICE CREAM HIKE! ☀️

Pack 122 invites all current Scouts, families, and friends interested in checking out Cub Scouts to join us for a casual summer walk. A sweet adventure for the whole family!

When: Saturday, June 27th at 11:30 AM
Where: Meet at Town Forest Park
(Town Forest Rd, West Simsbury)

We will gather at the park at 11:30 AM for a short walk over to Tulmeadow Farm Store just in time for their famous ice cream window to open at 12:00 PM, then head back together!

Everyone is welcome—bring your friends! Enjoy the easy, kid-friendly trail pace and delicious Ice cream. Meet other local families & learn about Cub Scouts!

What a huge success! Our Pack 122 Scouts conquered the climbing wall, hit bullseyes at the BB range, and reeled in some great catches down at the docks. We even practiced our navigation skills with some funny "Orienteering in a Box" training.

A massive thank you to all the parents and leaders who stepped up to volunteer, grill, and make this unforgettable day at Camp Workcoeman possible! Our summer adventures are just getting started, so stay tuned for details on our upcoming June Ice Cream Hike!

Last Thursday night, our incredible Pack 122 Cub Scouts officially earned their new ranks! We are so proud of all the hard work and dedication the Cub Scouts put in this year. A huge thank you to our wonderful families and leaders for making the ceremony and dessert potluck such a special celebration! ⚜️💙💛

Perfect weather for a climb! Our Cub Scouts took on the trail to Heublein Tower this past Saturday. It was a beautiful day to get some fresh air, enjoy the views, and log some hiking miles together. 🥾⛰️ ☀️

We had a blast at our Pack meeting last Thursday! The Scouts crushed the obstacle course and leveled up their nutrition knowledge with a 'My Plate' healthy eating game. They also decorated the cover for the Covered Wagon Derby coming the end of this month in the theme of America’s 250 Anniversary! Great job to everyone for being creative, staying active and learning how to fuel their bodies right! 🏃🍎🥦🇺🇸

Our most recent Pack meeting was fun and heartwarming! Our Cub Scouts worked together to make 80 sandwiches for the Bible Way Temple Nation in Hartford. We received word that they were distributed directly to families in need, and the impact was truly heartwarming.

We also kicked off our countdown to Spring camping! The Scouts had a blast testing out gear and getting a "real feel" for camp life. Nothing beats the excitement of just hanging out in a tent with friends.

Thank you to all the families who donated ingredients and made this service project possible. We are so proud of our Scouts for showing what it means to be helpful!

It is with heavy hearts that Pack 122 shares the news of the passing of Chief James Martino, Jr. For many years, Chief Martino was much more than the former Chief of the Avon Police Department; he was the heart and soul of the Avon Food Pantry. Our Pack has had the privilege of working with him for decades during our annual Thanksgiving and Christmas food drives.

Chief Martino’s life was a masterclass in the Scout Law. He was a "Servant’s Heart" in every sense—humble, kind, and always willing to do the hard work behind the scenes to help a neighbor in need. Whether he was leading the police department or volunteering at the pantry, he showed our Scouts what it truly means to give back to your community.

We are incredibly grateful for the years of partnership and for the example he set for our boys and girls. Our thoughts and prayers are with his sons, his grandchildren, and the entire Martino family.

Rest in peace, Chief. Thank you for everything. ⚜️
