Join us as we celebrate the local government leaders who have served Avon.

Avon Honors Those Who Serve

Join us on Saturday, October 17 for a special Avon 250 event celebrating self-government, public service, and the many residents who have stepped forward to serve our community in elected office.

The afternoon will feature a panel discussion with four current and former Town Council Chairs — John Carlson, Mark Zacchio, Heather Maguire, and Dan Polhamus — reflecting on their experiences serving Avon.

We also warmly invite all current and former elected officials to attend and be recognized for their service to our community.

📅 Saturday, October 17
⏰ 1:00–2:00 PM
📍 Avon Senior Center, 635 West Avon Road
☕ Cookies and refreshments to follow

This is a community celebration beyond party lines and an opportunity to recognize the people who have given their time in service to Avon.

Thank you to all who have served Avon — your service makes a difference.

It’s time to sign up for this year’s forest bathing event. Registration is limited.

Join Avon Recreation & Parks, Bike Walk Avon CT, and the Avon Land Trust for a slow-paced, sensory experience designed to help you slow down, connect with nature, and experience the forest in a new way.

This is not a traditional hike. The two-hour experience will include a brief orientation and meditation, followed by guided, nature-based invitations that encourage participants to engage their senses and connect with their surroundings. The program will conclude with time for reflection and sharing.

Please bring: Water and a folding chair.
Additional information regarding terrain, footwear, bug spray, parking, and meeting location will be provided upon registration.
Rain cancels.
