Happy Easter, Avon Park Pageant 🐣 Peeps!

We wanted to share some exciting news; the APCC has confirmed payment for the venue, and we will be looking at ways to continue the pageant legacy, in the fall. As, well as raffle items and proceeds...details to follow! All previously paid contestants WILL be able to complete this year; and age requirements will be extended to ensure all young ladies can compete! Major changes and details to come in the near future. We would like to host a RAFFLE give away, very soon! We are aware all paid sponsors ans supporters would LOVE to see what they may have won! Kenlee Wall and her sister Queens will be posting some updates on the date and location within the next coming month.

Attention All Former Contestants, Sponsors, and Community Supporters. It is with deep sadness that we communicate the Chamber Apcc has made the decision to no longer facilitate or to be involved with the pageant program. The directors/committee, will be researching a possible way to restart the program; in a safe environment, so the young ladies of the city of Avon Park, may have this tradition kept moving forward. Pageant families and local businesses. Due to the Covid-19 shut down we would like to postpone the raffle drawing. So many have requested waiting due to still having raffles to sell or having issues getting them turned in to the chamber. So at this time we are going to postpone the drawing, until a later date.

THE AVON PARK CHAMBER OF COMMERCE POSTPONES ANNUAL PAGEANT EVENT

APCC ‘s Miss Avon Park Chamber of Commerce Pageant Cancelled Until Further Notice

AVON PARK, FL –(Tuesday, March 17, 2020)Until further notice, the Avon Park Chamber of Commerce is indefinitely postponing the 2020 Miss Avon Park Chamber of Commerce Pageant scheduled for Saturday, March 28th at Union Church.
Regrettably, our decision was made in response to recommendations presented by Union Church and the latest guidelines announced by Federal and the State of Florida health agencies concerning social distancing and avoiding group gatherings related to the coronavirus outbreak - an ongoing global outbreak of coronavirus disease caused by the SARS coronavirus 2.
The Avon Park Chamber of Commerce will continue to monitor State of Florida, local, and Federal health agencies statements to determine if our communities are at risk. The APCC and Miss Avon Park Pageant Team are saddened we must suspend the event until a time after we are cleared of all public health concerns. We are prepared to follow both State of Florida and Federal health agencies promptings and guidelines in order to appropriately move forward with discussing any possible rescheduling of the event with Union Church. *As scheduled: APCC Pageant Raffle items will be selected per usual and winners contacted by APCC Pageant Team.

In these challenging yet essential times where community help and assistance is vital to dealing with the global outbreak of coronavirus disease (caused by the SARS coronavirus 2), the Florida Chamber of Commerce reminds us all:

As the Avon Park Chamber of Commerce continues to also monitor state, local, and Federal health agencies statements to determine if our local communities are in a "cluster" spreading of the virus (which Highlands County, Florida, is not), we have not been identified as being an area of alarm.
If notified by the governmental and health agencies mentioned above, the Avon Park Chamber of Commerce is prepared to follow any mandated guidelines and applicably convey them to you.
