A big THANK YOU to the members of North Coast Rotary Club and Foundation who joined us at the pantry earlier this week to help move items and prepare for new carpet installation throughout our back-of-house space! ❤️

We’re incredibly grateful for their helping hands and ee are excited to welcome them back Monday morning as they help us move everything back into place so the pantry is fully operational when we open!

Thank you, North Coast Rotary, for showing what service and community are all about! 🙌

A huge THANK YOU to Girl Scout Junior Troop 50954 from Avon! ❤️

These thoughtful 5th graders and their leaders recently put together and donated birthday kits filled with everything needed to make a birthday celebration extra special. The kits included cake mix, frosting, plates, napkins, balloons and more! 🎈🧁 They also collected and donated several non-perishable food items to help stock our pantry shelves.

We are so grateful for their kindness, generosity, and desire to give back to our community. These birthday kits will help bring a little extra joy to local families celebrating a special day.

Thank you, Troop 50954, for making a difference! ❤️

A big thank you to Lorain County Health & Dentistry CEO, Ben Kosewski and Outreach & Advocacy Coordinator, Alexa Geiger, for their generous donation of oral health bags to CRS! 🪥❤️

We’re grateful for community partners like LCH&D who help us provide valuable resources and support to local individuals and families. They are also a tremendous referral resource for those we serve. Thank you for your generosity and commitment to keeping our neighbors healthy and smiling! 😊

You may notice a few updates to the signage at our donation drop-off spot! We’re so grateful to our landlords, Nate and Henry at Stop65/Beachpark Station for helping make the drop-off area easier to find and more welcoming for our generous donors.

Most importantly, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to you, our amazing donors, who continue to show up with food items that help us support our community. Your generosity truly makes a difference every day, and we couldn’t do this work without you.

If you’re looking for items to donate, our greatest current needs are hearty soups and side dishes.

Thank you, Nate and Henry, and thank you to all of our donors for making giving so meaningful and impactful! ❤️

A big shout out to Coach Craig Collins and the Learwood Middle School Girls Volleyball Team! 🏐❤️

Thank you for stopping by the CRS pantry for a quick tour, learning more about the work we do, and, most importantly, giving back to our community. The team recently held a food drive and delivered an incredible 403+ pounds of food to help stock our pantry shelves!

We’re so grateful to Coach Collins and these student-athletes for showing that teamwork and leadership extend well beyond the volleyball court. Thank you for supporting CRS and the neighbors we serve! ❤️👏

❤️ Big hearts can make a BIG impact at any age! ❤️

We’re incredibly excited to recognize Lydia and Owen Simecek, two young members of our community who recently took it upon themselves to organize a food drive in support of their neighbors.

From August 1–8, Lydia and Owen reached out to family, friends and neighbors, and the response was AMAZING!Together, they collected and donated an incredible 413.65 pounds of food to CRS!

Lydia, who is entering 8th grade, and Owen, who is entering 6th grade, both at Saint Joseph Parish Avon Lake , organized and handled the entire food drive themselves. We are so impressed by their initiative, compassion and desire to help others.

We also have to give a special shoutout to their grandmother, Kris Simecek, one of our wonderful CRS weekly pantry volunteers. Kris has brought Lydia and Owen along to volunteer with her several times this summer, giving them an opportunity to see firsthand what it means to serve their community. We love seeing that spirit of generosity continue into the next generation! ❤️

Lydia and Owen are a wonderful reminder that you don’t have to be a certain age, have a lot of resources or do something enormous to make a meaningful difference. When we each use what we have…our time, our energy, our ideas and our hearts…we can create a tremendous impact for neighbors who could use a little extra love and support.

👏 Please join us in giving Lydia, Owen and their grandmother Kris a huge CRS shoutout. We would also like to express a big THANK YOU to all of the family, friends and neighbors who supported their food drive!

413.65 pounds of food. Two young people with an idea. One community showing up for its neighbors. ❤️

Good morning neighbors!

After an extremely busy week at our pantry this week, a couple of our food items are in need of replenishment.

If you’re at the store and able to grab some additional hearty (or “chunky” soups) and pasta to donate to those we serve, we would greatly appreciate it!

Our donation drop-off hours are 10am-2pm, Monday-Thursday.

We are so grateful for our generous community!! Thank you in advance!

As we wrap up another successful Community Resource Services - CRS Back to School Readiness season, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to CRS Client Coordinator, Mindy Penn, and her daughter, Marin, for the incredible time, energy, and dedication they poured into this year’s distribution efforts.

Because of their hard work and commitment, 300 children will head into the new school year equipped with backpacks, school supplies, and gift cards to Old Navy and Walmart. This helps us ensure they have the essentials they need to start the school year with confidence.

A very special thank you goes to Marin, whose summer internship with us comes to an end tomorrow. Throughout the summer, she has been an invaluable member of our team, bringing enthusiasm, compassion, and a willingness to jump in wherever she was needed. We are so grateful for all she has done and wish her the very best as she heads back to college. We know she has a bright future ahead!

Thank you, Mindy and Marin, for making a lasting difference in the lives of so many local families. Your kindness and dedication embody what community is all about.
