Our April member meeting will be on Thursday, April 23th at 6 pm at the Sand Lake Town Hall.

We will have refreshments, followed by Janise Fallon’s presentation: The Wonderful World of Medicinal Herbs.

In this introduction to using herbs, we will talk about why use herbs, growing herbs or foraging, drying & storing herbs, and some easy ways to use herbs. You will also make a couple of take home herbal surprises!

The Sand Lake Garden Club will be meeting Thursday, March 26 (6PM at the Sand Lake Courthouse) for an informative program on "Capital Roots ". Michael DellaRocco will be speaking about the organization - their history of 50 years, mission, outreach, community gardens, etc. All meetings are free and open to the public - hope to see you on the 26th !

Good Morning Everyone,

This is a reminder our Annual Meeting is this Thursday, January 22, 2026 starting at 6 pm.

We will be doing our meet and greet from 6:00 pm to 6:30 pm.

Our regular business meeting will begin at 6:30 pm.

This meeting is of utmost importance to all members.

There is no program since we will be discussing the future reorganization of the club.

This cannot be done thru emails so your attendance is very important.

If you wish to have your voice be heard and your vote to count, please attend our meeting.

We will be voting in new officers and board members.

As always, DUES are due!
Dues can be paid at the meeting or sent to the Sand Lake Garden Club at P.O. Box 660 Averill Park, NY 12018

Good Morning Members,

Brr, Fall is certainly here. Hopefully, we all have put our gardens to bed.

This week's membership meeting is Thursday, October 23rd.
Refreshments will be available at 6pm with our guest speaker presenting at 6:30pm.
Our speaker is Dr. Wasula; she will talk about our changing weather and how it is affecting our gardens.
I won't be at the meeting, but Russ Gettig will be there in my place.

Soon the holidays will be upon us.
Our Christmas Party will be held at the Sand Lake Art Center, same as last years.
It is scheduled for Wednesday, December 10th, from 4pm to 7pm.
It will be catered by Carol's of Troy.
The best part is that it will be free for current paid members.

"Wow , what a weather year ! First an overly wet spring and then a killing drought. Join the Sand Lake Garden Club on Thursday, Oct. 23, at 6 PM for an informative weather program by Alicia Wasula [ author, meteorologist, and president of STEM Weather ]. She will explain meteorology in a way that is applicable to not just gardeners but to anyone who loves the outdoors. Climate change will be discussed also.

Alicia is the author of a new educational book called " A Weather Primer for Gardeners " [ copies will be available for sale - $20, no checks ] This program will be held at the Sand Lake Town Hall - refreshments at 6 PM with the program at 6:30. Our meetings are free and open to all - hope to see you on the 23rd !

Join the Sand Lake Garden Club on Thursday, Sept. 25 at the Sand Lake Town Hall for a fascinating program by David Besozzi on Asian inspired gardening. David has visited over 100 Japanese, Chinese, and Korean gardens across North America. He is a retired educator and passionate gardener who has transformed his own backyard into a zen oasis since 2009 named " Songi Yuan ". Learn about how to create your own place of peace from David. The garden club meets at 6 PM for refreshments with the program to follow at 6:30.
