Avalon Home and Land Owners Association Avalon Home and Land Owners Association is a group of community-oriented property owners.

Our purpose is to promote and enhance the environmental, economic and social values of property ownership in the Borough of Avalon, NJ. In order to serve the Avalon community, AHLOA:

- Maintains regular communications with Borough officials in order to best represent our member’s collective interests;

- Maintains regular communications with our members via this website, our page

, and optionally via regular e-mails or quarterly newsletters based on member election;

- Reports regularly to AHLOA members in-person at meetings held in Avalon on the 2nd Saturday of each month;

- Encourages suggestions from and dialogue with our members on current issues and topics of interest, and;

- Contributes financially to special projects and programs that enhance the overall welfare of Avalon property owners. Membership is open to all persons owning property in the Borough of Avalon. Your enrollment is vital to AHLOA, the Borough of Avalon, your fellow property owners and the local community. We look forward to working with and representing you for many years to come. Happy to share The Wetlands news and appreciate the thoughtful approach to work on the Salt Marsh Trail and the entire campus.

Don’t worry.

Though The Wetlands Institute will temporarily close its Stone Harbor Boulevard location for improvements, we’ll reopen with fall/winter hours on November 7th in our transitional location – the New Jersey Coastal Conservation Center (NJCCC) at 600 North Delsea Drive in Cape May Court House. We will be returning to our marsh home of more than 50 years when we complete our restoration and improvement work.

The NJCCC will house TWI staff, educational spaces, and our Tidepool Shop. Our research and conservation teams will continue their terrapin, marsh and coastal bird work uninterrupted.

We will continue to provide public programming and education programs from the NJCCC, including:

🕰️Opening to the public for our standard fall/winter weekend hours of 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM Saturdays and Sundays, beginning Saturday, November 7.

🌱Continuing partnerships for school field trips, homeschool classes for the 2026/2027 school year (including our monthly Nature Education for Homeschool Students and Teachers), and scout programs, though we might slightly modify some education programs.

📍Remember, you can visit us in our Stone Harbor Boulevard location through Monday, September 7.

🧭 We encourage you to visit us at the NJCCC – pictured in our post – and to explore the trails and native gardens, marsh overlooks, and the newly renovated space when we kick-off our fall/winter season November 7.

A special thank you to Avalon Mayor John McCorristin, Business Administrator Scott Wahl, Avalon Free Public Library Director Erin Brown and Captain Sean McNair of theAvalon NJ Police Department for joining us during our Annual Meeting held on Aug. 8. A packed house turned out to listen to presentations and a Q&A session, while AHLOA president Warren Faulk presented this year’s board of board of trustees for 2026. We greatly appreciated the time our presenters and our attendees took to show their interest in all things Avalon!

Be sure to bring your kids to Avalon's popular National Night Out celebration on Tuesday, August 4th, at 6:00pm. The celebration will be held adjacent to Surfside Park with many public safety displays and games, cool public works vehicles, and our entire emergency management team including police, fire, rescue, and beach patrol!

Members and prospective members are invited to join us on Saturday, August 8 at 9 a.m. in Community Hall for an informative morning focused on the latest happenings in the community.

Highlights include:
- The State of the Borough Address from Mayor John McCorristin
- Proposed Avalon Library and History Center facility presentation by Director Erin Brown

Last week, AHLOA provided bagged lunches to the entire Avalon Beach Patrol team – including guards, officers, tag checkers and staff – as a small “Thank You” for all they do. Lunches were delivered directly to lifeguards at their stands across the beaches.
We love showing our appreciation for the people who work tirelessly to keep our community safe all summer long! ⛱
