We joke that Friend In Need was founded by a bunch of cranky old men who were sitting at the bar. Bud was the exception. Still at the bar, but always smiling. He was consistently the first to respond to requests for assistance and never once said no to anyone that reached out for help. Bud was a driving force behind Friend In Need and its growth to what it is now and we will all truly miss this Avalon legend.

We lost a legend today. Unfortunately, Dan Keen reported that his dad, Bud, passed away earlier today. Wow, what a loss. Bud was one of the people who made the Seven Mile Beach so special. This photo is from a much happier time, last October 25, this was Bud at his 80th birthday party at the P. Regardless of how you knew him: as your plumber, a friend, a softball player it didn't matter. You knew how special Bud was. He once told me, "I can fix anything." All he did after making that kind of statement, was to prove that he actually could. Time and time again! There are a lot of people who are going to miss this guy. A talented master plumber but also was one of the nicest human beings you ever could meet. RIP Buddy -- we're all going to miss you.
