Attention: Information regarding Campus Masterplan Tax Levy on August 8!!

The Ava R-I District has been gathering feedback during the development of a long-range Master Plan for the School District campus. The goal has been to identify and prioritize needs and goals for our campus, buildings, our staff, and our facilities.

A few issues that continued to come up repeatedly related to the safety and security in the area of our campus were the following:

🔵Security of our Pre-K classrooms relative to the rest of campus.
🔵The issue with our smallest and youngest students having to travel the furthest distance to the existing storm shelter.
🔵Safety concerns with the traffic and parking issues during pick-up and drop-off.
🔵Vehicular Traffic in the adjacent Neighborhoods

Check out how the Campus Master Plan addresses these issues:

🟡The Early Childhood Building would house our Pre-K students in a new, more secure facility.
🟡In addition to the classrooms for Pre-K students and office space for programs such as PAT and SPED, would be a multi-purpose room that would also serve as a storm shelter for PRE-K & elementary students.
🟡Traffic and Circulation improvements will relieve congestion during pick-up and drop-off times, and be safer and more efficient for students, parents, and bus drivers.
🟡These improvements would provide improved building access routes for the High School, Middle School, and Elementary.
🟡A new Security Entrance will be built at the Middle School, as well as making improvements to the security and safety of playground areas and surfaces.

A shout out to our amazing maintenance crew. They do whatever is needed to help our students and teachers.

The past two days they have unloaded and assembled items from our Childcare Relief Expansion Grant-for our Early Childhood Special Education Preschool.

We appreciate all of your hard work!
