The Student Veterans Association at UT Austin is a sponsored organization through the Dean of Students. In conjunction with the Jean Perkins Foundation, $250,000 in scholarships were awarded to student veterans on campus in the 2021-2022 school year. We aim to make our members aware opportunities like this. To learn more about available grants, scholarships, and other opportunities, get associated
with the SVA. Our goal for the upcoming academic year is to work alongside The Office for Student Veterans Services to host professional development and networking events. Over the last several years, the SVA has been leveraging our relationships to help our members get internships and be better prepared for their careers. We also aim to have social and community service events to promote personal growth in support of The University's core values. Most importantly, the SVA will be your reliable and consistent sources for community. Each Friday during the school year, the SVA will host the Women Veterans meetup on campus followed by a Happy Hour(s) at a nearby beverage dispensary. Throughout the year, the SVA will be hosting other larger events including: a Back to School BBQ, the Veteran’s Day Tailgate, End of Semester Parties, and more.
Show up for one event, or every week. There is no commitment. Your only obligation is to relax and enjoy yourself.
