During Asian Pacific Heritage Month, a post from our friends and colleagues at MTF Biologics provides an opportunity to highlight the benefits of tissue donation for a member of a profession that drives our mission.

We are celebrating Asian Pacific Heritage Month by honoring the achievements and culture of Asian-Americans & Pacific-Islanders in the US. Just like Ivy Chang, a nurse who experienced firsthand how tissue donations can make all the difference in someone's life – she received a donated tendon to replace her torn ACL after a skiing accident.

Now, Ivy chose to become a donor so that others could receive the same opportunity for recovery. We are proud of Ivy and all those who have dedicated their time to promoting APA communities! πŸ§‘πŸ’›β€‹β€‹

AUSTIN, TEXAS: The last flag-signing event for Team Texas brought out recipients, donor families, living donors, former Longhorns, and "Ringo," mascot of our own Texas Stars hockey team. From United Tissue Resources, the official flag of the Transplant Life Foundation Transplant Games of America now makes its way to Florida, before eventually landing in Denver, site of the 2026 Transplant Games.

May is !

It's a time to celebrate the power of older Americans to guide and inspire us. Did you know that 50% of organ donors are over the age of 55 and the oldest organ donor in the U.S. was 100? The oldest corneal (eye) donor was 107 and older people commonly become tissue donors.

Don't rule yourself out to give the gift of life–generosity is ageless! πŸ’™πŸ’š We can all help save and heal lives by registering online as an organ, eye, and tissue donor at www.DonateLifeTexas.org.
