The Austin Area Urban League (AAUL) Guild is a volunteer auxiliary of professional men and women whose mission is to empower and strengthen the Austin Affiliate’s presence in the community through fundraising, leadership development, and community service initiatives. This is done in the spirit of community, collegiality, and fellowship. The Guild was chartered in 1997–1998 during the tenure of Mr

. Herman Lessard, President/CEO. The Guild ceased to exist for several years, but was reactivated on June 9, 2012 by organizer Mrs. Mason with the support of AAUL Board Chairman, Dr. Gregory J. Vincent and newly appointed AAUL President/CEO, Mr. W. “Teddy” McDaniel. Members attended an all-day orientation at the Marvin C. Griffin Community Engagement Center that culminated with an Induction Ceremony and installation of officers conducted by Mrs. Sharon Cox-Bevley, Southern Regional Coordinator of the National Council of Urban League Guilds (NCULG).
