TBT: in 1975 Dr. Owen Cooper was elected president of the Association of Southern Baptists. At that same meeting he along with Joe Carrington and others voted to remove the word Southern from the name to broaden the involvement for individuals and/or churches from interested Baptist groups. Today the board is comprised of a variety of Baptists not only from all over the country but many affiliated or independent Baptists. Ultimately all seek to allow Christ to be glorified through Scouting!

TRAINING TUESDAY - Religious Observances
A Scout is Reverent - Reverence shapes how we see the world. It helps us notice goodness, honor the beliefs of others, and guide our thoughts and actions.
There are certain holidays that individual Scouts and Scouters of different faiths celebrate each year. These holidays are not always on the same date on the calendar and may not be familiar to everyone. In order to respect the traditions of all Scouts and Scouters, care must be taken in scheduling Scouting activities.
Visit https://www.scouting.org/.../relat.../religious-observances/ to find calendars through 2029 and a brief explanation of each holiday included.

Cubmaster Minute: The Sparks We Catch
Gather around the campfire, Scouts. Look closely at the flames leaping upward. Whenever a piece of dry oak crackles, tiny sparks lift into the night air. If a spark floats away by itself into the cold grass, what happens? It fades and goes dark in a second. But when all those embers stay together in the fire pit, they produce heat strong enough to warm every single one of us standing in this circle.
Our Pack works the exact same way. When you do a small, kind deed—picking up a dropped neckerchief slide, inviting a new Tiger to sit with your den, or saying a quiet thank-you to the parents cooking breakfast—you are putting a spark into our fire. One kind word might feel small on its own, but when sixty Scouts each bring a spark of kindness, our whole Pack glows bright enough to warm everyone around us. This week, catch yourself doing one good turn, and keep the fire burning strong. Dismissed!
