The Town Lake (TX) chapter of The Links, Incorporated Black K.A.R.E. initiative has concluded its activities for March, which is recognized as National Kidney Month. During this time, the initiative provided education to the community about chronic kidney disease and took part in the Black Family Wellness Expo earlier this month in Killeen, TX. In addition, the chapter collaborated with other Links chapters across Central Texas, advancing collective efforts to promote health and wellness.

The Town Lake (TX), Austin (TX), and Lone Star (TX) Chapters of The Links, Incorporated invite you to join us for a critical conversation: “Stolen Freedom: The Human Cost of Trafficking.”

As we continue National Human Trafficking Awareness Month, we must face the sobering reality of this crisis in our community:
* A Disproportionate Impact: While Black girls make up only about 7% of the U.S. population, they account for nearly 40% of all s*x trafficking victims.
* A Local Crisis: Texas consistently ranks second in the nation for reported human trafficking cases, with an estimated 79,000 minors currently victims of s*x trafficking across the state.
