Upcoming Trail closure + detour! 🚧

📍 The Boardwalk (south shore)
🗓️ START: Monday, October 12
❓ A section of the Boardwalk will be closed through Sunday, October 18, for the I-35 Capital Express Central Project

ℹ️
Beginning Monday, October 12, TxDOT crews will close the Lady Bird Lake south shore boardwalk at I-35 to accommodate construction of the pedestrian bridge. This closure will remain in place through Sunday, October 18.

During this time, other access points will be available at South Lakeshore Boulevard east of I-35 or the trail entrance west of I-35. (See map for more details)

Continuous, full closures of trails and waterways near the bridge are limited to three times per year, each lasting no more than one week.

Going to ACL? Take the scenic route. 🎸➡️🌳

The Butler Trail is one of the easiest ways to get to Zilker Park without battling festival traffic. Keep these tips in mind when using the Trail to get to and from the festival!

1. 🗺️ Know your entrances: The Barton Springs East and Lady Bird entrances are right off the Butler Trail. Even better? Use the FREE shuttle at Sand Beach Park across the street from the Pfluger Bridge Circle.

2. 🚮 Leave no trace: Keep trash with you until you can dispose of it properly, limit your can smashing by bringing a refillable water bottle to the fest, and learn more about the Rock & Recycle program inside the festival grounds.

3. 🛴❌ Take scooters off the Trail: The Butler Trail is a no-scooter zone. Please take them off the Trail for your safety and others'. A good rule to follow is: if you see decomposed granite on the ground, turn that scooter around.

The Eastside Family Garden will revitalize over 2 acres of neglected parkland on the Northeast shore of the Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail, creating a recreational space that blends traditional playscapes, nature play, and inviting gathering areas—all purposefully designed with shade, native restoration, and water access in mind.
