Well done, TSA members! Read the excellent article below by Dr. Burke Bradley and Dr. Amr Abouleish.

Shoutout to The Painkillers! Temple, Texas, is home to an all-anesthesiologist rock band. The band, made up of faculty from the Baylor Scott & White Anesthesiology Residency Program, include Drs. Joel Cavazos on vocals and guitar, John Cargile on bass guitar, Ben Vacula on keyboards and backing vocals, Robert Martin on guitar, and Russell McAllister on drums.

The band plays classic rock, blues, pop, and country music. Beginning in 2020 as a one-time recruiting video for medical students interested in anesthesiology, these members continued practicing and now play at local fundraisers, building a local following along the way. Way to go, anesthesiologists!
