This week, take some time to figure out who YOU are as a musician and how you want to be perceived on the internet.
- Social media is not going anywhere; you pretty much have to participate in it to have a real future with your career.
- Treat your social audience like a live audience - be genuine, present yourself the way you want to be perceived, and don’t overthink it
- Take some time – minutes, days, or months– to really develop a brand for yourself and decide how you want to present yourself on media.
- If it makes sense for you and your brand to post every day, do it. If you want your followers to know your opinions, share them. Be conscious of how you want to be perceived, but in the end you get to make these decisions for your career and presence.
- Sometimes you have to be careful what you post; take time to decide how you will handle politics, harsh language/swearing, and sensitive or triggering topics.
