We live in a world that tells us there are many paths to God.
Believe whatever feels right.
Follow your truth.
Find whatever makes you happy.
As long as you’re sincere, every road eventually leads to the same destination.
It sounds accepting. It sounds comforting.
And it certainly sounds easier.
But there’s a problem.
It’s not what Jesus said.
“I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” - John 14:6
Notice what Jesus didn’t say.
He didn’t say, “I am one of the ways.”
He didn’t say, “I can show you a truth.”
He didn’t say, “I can help you discover a better life.”
He said, “I AM.”
Jesus wasn’t offering another religious philosophy or a different approach to spirituality.
He was making an exclusive claim about who He is and what He alone can do.
And that’s where Christianity becomes uncomfortable for a culture that believes all roads should lead to the same place.
But here’s what we must understand:
The exclusivity of Jesus is not a declaration that certain people are unwelcome.
It’s the announcement that salvation is available to anyone who comes through Him.
You don’t have to have your life together.
You don’t have to clean up your past.
You don’t have to earn His acceptance or prove you’re worthy of His love.
You simply have to come to Him in repentance and faith.
The road may be narrow, but the invitation is wide.
And following Jesus won’t always be easy.
There will be sacrifices.
There will be difficult decisions.
There will be moments when obedience costs you something.
But the destination is worth it because the One who calls us to follow Him is also the One who gives us life.
Jesus isn’t simply the best way to God. He is the only way to God.
And the greatest news we could ever share is that through His death and resurrection, that way has been opened to sinners like us.
So don’t settle for a path that simply feels right.
Follow the One who is Truth.
Trust the One who gives Life.
