Hello Neighbors,
If you live in the Austin area, and you or someone you know, has a spare used wheelchair, cart, or other mobility device that you could donate to help disabled people in the Congo, please reply to me and we will find a way to pick them up. Caleb Nkanzu will then transport them to Dallas where they will be sent on to the Congo. The organization they are working with centers on community-based rehabilitation and social integration. It advocates for the care and protection of youth, children, and families affected by severe vulnerabilities and physical or intellectual disabilities. Any extra mobility devices we can send will help them greatly. We need the devices by Tuesday, so please respond as soon as you can if you have one to Betty Bobo.
Here is more information on the collection agency for the devices to be sent to the Congo.
ONGD A.D.N.C. stands for Organisation Non-Gouvernementale de Développement - Appui au Développement de Notre Communauté (Non-Governmental Development Organization - Support for the Development of Our Community). It is a local civil society organization operating in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), specifically coordinated by figures like Emmanuel Mboyo. [1, 2, 3, 4]
The organization works within the broader landscape of Congolese non-profits to support highly vulnerable populations, focusing specifically on inclusive development, medical care, and social reintegration for disabled children and adults. [1, 2, 3]
