New Leaders Council Austin

New Leaders Council Austin Deep in the heart of Texas, we develop, connect, and uplift leaders in Austin through social, civil, and political change rooted in equity.

NLC is where new voices, new ideas, and new leaders connect to make real progress. NLC's core program, the NLC Institute, is delivered across the country in our chapters. The Institute creates a space for intensive leadership development and meaningful connection with other changemakers across issues, industries, and identities. The program takes place over 6 months, focusing on skill building amo

ng each cohort, one weekend per month. Training includes entrepreneurial goal setting, strategic communications, digital organizing, finance and fundraising, coalition building, public policy, and equity and inclusion. Here at NLC Austin, we tailor NLC's national curriculum to meet the needs of our local community. Our chapter uses national and local trainers to implement the program, providing a premier training experience and a strong grounding in the local community. The Institute culminates in a capstone, where Fellows identify a project that fills a need in the community and is aligned with their passions and goals. Fellows leverage the skills and network NLC provides during the Institute for their capstone project – bringing the NLC experience to life in communities across the country. To learn more about the Institute and how to apply, visit www.newleaderscouncil.org/the-nlc-institute.

Through our core program, the NLC Institute, Fellows learn the skills most helpful to building power among the leaders closest to their communities. We’re committed to providing our Fellows with the best possible learning experience to help them develop into the progressive leaders Austin deserves.

Each year, NLC Fellows receive six months of tuition-free training, experiential learning, and network building — tailored to the needs of our local community. This training has allowed our alumni to go on to found their own businesses, lead nonprofits, and serve in elected office.

We invite you to share recommendations to help our local chapter with selections for Institute locations, speakers and facilitators across a diverse range of topics, and more.

Thanks so much for offering your recommendations to help ensure our 2023 NLC Austin fellows have the best learning environments they can to develop into the progressive leaders Austin deserves. Your feedback will help us make selections for institute locations, national faculty, and sponsors.
