Congratulations to our Scouts of the Week from Scouts BSA Troop 967: Arnav V., Alex I., and Jake K.!

From Troop 967:
"Our Scouts were recognized by the City of Buda, TX - City Government at the City Council meeting for their contributions to the city and city parks with their Eagle projects. A very proud moment for the Scouts, parents, and the troop."

Help us congratulate these Scouts!

Our council is proud to announce the 2027 recipients of the Distinguished Citizen Award: Jan and Bobby Jenkins!

Jan and Bobby are two of the most visible leaders in Central Texas business and philanthropic circles. Whether as a family or at the office, the Jenkins name is synonymous with character. Jan and Bobby’s example has inspired generations to serve, support, and give. Scouting has helped instill these values in the Jenkins family, from Bobby’s time as a Scout growing up in San Antonio to Jan’s service as a volunteer leader in Austin while their children were Scouts in elementary school. It’s easy to see the Scout Oath’s call to “help other people at all times” and the Scout Law’s values of being Friendly, Courteous, and Kind, reflected in the life Jan and Bobby have made for themselves and their family.

It's our honor to recognize the Jenkins at our 2027 Distinguished Citizen Award Luncheon on Thursday, February 4, 2027, at the Hilton Austin. Funds from the Distinguished Citizen Award event benefit hundreds of Scouting programs across 15 Central Texas counties serving youth regardless of ability or economic level. To learn more about the event and how you/your company can support it, please visit our website at www.thedistinguishedcitizen.com.

Scouting can take your child farther than you might imagine. Just ask Cub Scout Pack 471 Elgin, TX., who wrapped up summer with an overnight adventure at NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration alongside Scouts from across Texas.

They built and launched rockets, tackled a robotics challenge, and got an up-close look at where astronauts train for the International Space Station.

From campsites to space exploration, Scouting gives kids the chance to try new things, build confidence and discover just how big their world can be.
