One Voice is excited to share our 2026 Buddy Program Pairings. Each year, the Buddy Program pairs our more seasoned nonprofit executives with our emerging leaders, as well as a peer-to-peer option. Each year, we find that both buddies in mentorship pairs have the opportunity to gain invaluable insights, guidance, and support. This year marks exactly 100 members connected since the inception of the program!

American YouthWorks was recently awarded the 2026 Corps Network Project of the Year. This prestigious award acknowledges their "Rebuilding Community and Hope" rapid response to last July's devastating Texas floods.

Next month, American YouthWorks will receive this award at The Corps Network 2026 Action Summit in Washington, DC. We are so proud of them for receiving this recognition for their efforts and unwavering commitment to the community!

One Voice Central Texas has been following the impact of Federal funding cuts closely for the past year. Starting with a snap survey to members last spring as Executive Orders demanded funding freezes, our commitment to remaining informed led us to become one of the founding members of the Coalition to Assess Federal Funding Impact and support the facilitation of a larger survey issued to the Central Texas region.

Please see the results of our Fall 2025 survey below and keep in mind - this is merely the impact on 82 nonprofits after the first round of Federal cuts:

- 34% of respondents had already reduced their services
- 28% reduced staff
- 35% reduced number served
- 24% reduced infrastructure investments
- 35% reduced job postings/froze hiring
- 52% anticipate more federal cuts in 2026
- 70 employees had been laid off, with 40+ more expected

Local health and human services nonprofits are crucial to the infrastructure of Central Texas communities. In just one single day, nonprofits are providing shelter, food, childcare, senior transportation, victim services, books, diapers and more for thousands of individuals in our region.

We ask that you share these survey results to spread awareness of the impact and consider how else you can support your local nonprofits with your time and donations.

Pierre Berastain, CEO of The SAFE Alliance, aptly describes the impact government funding cuts can have on nonprofit organizations. One Voice Central Texas is devoted to continuing advocacy efforts that help ensure these cuts do not happen. Read about Pierre's perspective on the current climate below.

I was recently interviewed by FOX 7 Austin about the funding crisis facing The SAFE Alliance. Remember: only a little over 10% of our funding comes from the City of Austin. 50% comes from government in general (federal, state, and city funds). The remaining 50% comes from philanthropy and donors. Du...

One Voice Central Texas is honored to have received a Transformational Impact award at the Community Advancement Network - CAN "Together We CAN" celebration on Wednesday.

This award recognizes our facilitation of providing scholarships for 75+ OVCT staff members to be trained on Mental Health First Aid. We extend a huge thank you to Integral Care's incredible training team, who provided the materials needed for registration and the training itself. It is collaborations like these that support the foundation of the nonprofit infrastructure, and we are so proud to be part of it.

It was great seeing folks at the March Member Meeting yesterday. A huge thank you to Mobile Loaves & Fishes and Community First Village for hosting us at their beautiful new Goodness Hall. It was a small but mighty group to meet with on such a beautiful day. After the conclusion of our meeting, a handful of members were able to stay and take a tour of the new side of the Village, where we learned more about eligibility and opportunities for neighbors. Our next Member Meeting will take place on Zoom on April 15 - we look forward to seeing everyone!
