Blowcomotion is a community brass band learning workshop. We welcome folks of all musical abilities. We rehearse every Tuesday night from 7-9pm at Shipe Park.

Dust off that old tuba from high school, learn a new instrument, or pick up music for the first time! If you're interested in joining the band, head to our website and click "Join" at the top of the page. No need to own an instrument or know how to play--we can provide you with an instrument of your choice and we have professional teachers who will help you learn. All are welcome to come watch or play along with us.

Blowcomotion is steppin’ out at this weekend! Catch one of our 4 performances at this amazing, FREE festival that features brass bands from across the country. The fun kicks off this Friday at Jackalope South Shore! Friday’s showcase is 21+ but Saturday and Sunday are all ages.

It’s SXSW weekend and, because of last weekend’s rain, we’re throwing a party right in the heat of it! If you’re looking to have some off-the-beaten-path fun this weekend, you can’t miss the Blowco Boogiedown at Batch - Craft Beer and Kolaches from 4-7 with the sickest all-femme brass band this side of the Mississip', Yes Ma'am Brass Band! It’s a free show full of funky outfits and classic tunes—come boogiedown in the backyard with us this weekend! 70s costumes encouraged!

Blowco had a blast playing several Mardi Gras shows last week! It’s become one of our busiest times of year and we love playing a role in spreading the Mardi Gras spirit across Austin.

If you missed our Mardi Gras shows, catch us next weekend at for a FREE funky disco party show featuring ! We’re gonna do our best to bring the sparkle, lights, and danceable music on Saturday, March 7 from 4-7pm. This show is ALL AGES, open to the public, and did we mention FREE!

It’s a new year and we’re back at it again! The Blowco crew had a ball volunteering at last night. We’re a community-centered band and there’s no better way for us to show that than by giving back whenever we can!

Our annual holiday tradition is back again! We’re playing the opening night of this Friday night (12/12) at 6:30! This will be our last performance of the year, so don’t miss your chance to boogie down with the biggest band in town one more before the year flips over.

Catch Blowcomotion parading through Mueller this Saturday at 10am at Cyclovia ATX!

Cyclovia ATX is a free, family friendly event that takes place on November 8, 2025 from 10am-2pm at Marshall Middle School in the Mueller Neighborhood.

It's a festival of human-powered transportation that includes 1 mile of adjacent Living Streets (closed to motorized vehicles) and nine activity zones including three parks.

There will be activities for all ages and interests, including bicycling clinics, skateboarding, roller skating, yoga, performances, ultimate frisbee, and more.

We had an amazing time volunteering last night at ! This was our first time volunteering together as a band and it was a super positive, energizing way to help us connect with each other and serve our community. We’ll definitely be coming back!!

We have a couple awesome shows coming up this week! If you want to catch Blowco in the wild, we’ll be at the Capitol on Sunday at 5:30 for and we play at 5pm Tuesday night for HAAM Day benefiting . We’d love to see you!

Back by popular demand, Blowcomotion returns to Mueller this Saturday, Aug 23, at 11AM for their store’s tailgate party! We’ll be kicking off the event with some fun tunes in the parking lot—don’t miss it!

We’re still reeling from our performance last month at for the Battle of the Bands fundraiser! Such an incredible night and a HUGE accomplishment for our band!! 💜 Thanks to HAAM for having us!!

Been craving a Blowco fix? We’re playing one of our few shows of the summer tomorrow morning (7/4) at West Austin Neighborhood Park! We’re going to kick off a short parade from the fire station at 1000 Blanco St at 9:30 followed by a longer performance at the park. Come kick off your July 4th celebrations with some good vibes and fun music!
