Inc. Earlier in his career, Grant was an award-winning journalist for CNN and CNN International in New York and London. He then served in senior editorial, business development and marketing roles at companies ranging from start-ups to multinationals such as Olivetti. Grant has taught graduate courses about trends in digital media and journalism at Johns Hopkins University and American University. Grant, who comes from a family of physicians and public health experts, is passionate about the needs of patients and their families. Diagnosed more than 20 years ago with an extremely rare disease, Perry has been examined, studied and treated at many major medical centers in the US and Europe. Grant has contributed to many media outlets, including Livestrong, the Huffington Post and public radio’s Marketplace. A frequent public speaker, he has spoken in recent years at, among others, the “Innovations in Patient Empowerment Symposium” in Pasadena, CA and the “World Editors Forum” in Gothenburg, Sweden.
