A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made last Sunday night’s exploration of Bolero Inmortal an evening we will never forget!

What a treat to have the incomparable Bill Frisell with us on stage as we explored the Golden Age of Mexican music and cinema. Bill, your version of Besame Mucho was magical. Wow! Thank you for bringing your kind and generous spirit along with your guitar to the Laboratorio stage.

A shout out to the Laboratorio House Band - Orkesta Mendoza , Alex Marrero , Brannen Temple , David Pulkingham, and Roscoe Beck - making music together with y'all is truly a gift.

A big thank you to my husband Luke Jacobs for all of the visuals and film clips that transported us all back to La Época de Oro. And to Laurie Gallardo for setting the stage as emcee.

And finally to mi amiga Sarah Wilson for capturing the night with these fabulous photographs!

So much love and soul... my heart is full!

Last fall we had a dreamy recording session at Arlyn Studios with our All Star Chicano Collective placing group vocals on the song Yo Soy Chicano - a track on Ruben Ramos's album Los Días de Calor. Here's a shot of Josh Baca catching up with "El Gato Negro" himself. Josh also played some of the most beautiful accordion on the album you'll ever hear. You can catch both of them live at Antone's Nightclub as we celebrate Ruben's Album Release on July 19th!
