Something good from far afield. The 75 million social media followers of the Korean pop group BTS are referred to individually as One in An ARMY. BTS is celebrating one of the band member’s birthday with a fundraising campaign for our Kenyan library partners, Start a Library. In addition to all the nearly 40 school libraries we’ve built together, Nobelity is also the U.S. nonprofit fiscal partner of SAL, and we had to scramble this week to help get the back end part of this campaign mounted at the last minute.
It’s one days into a ten day fundraiser to refresh the very well read English and Swahili language books at 20 school libraries with new copies. Already 1/4 of the way to the goal.
The most interesting part to me - despite how crazy the world is right now - is how good work gets recognized and supported from places and by people you never expect. If you see something good happening in the world, level things up a bit and tell people about it.
