🚨 Happy Trapping Season! 🚨

Sunday marked the start of a large TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) effort for this colony. Our goal was to trap 10 cats for spay and neuter appointments, and we ended up trapping 9 adults, and 4 kittens in very rough shape!

Mama and her kittens are safely settled and healing in a foster home, and 8 adult cats made it to their spay/neuter appointments. Every cat fixed means fewer kittens born into difficult conditions and a healthier future for the colony.

5 cats returned to us from their spay/neuter appointments, and were placed were able to be placed within our TNR Barn Program. Two were admitted to Furball Farm for lifetime care due to significant dental issues, where they can live comfortably and receive the ongoing care they need. One senior boy was humanely euthanized after veterinary evaluation revealed extensive medical issues that could not be reasonably treated. Mama and babies will be transferred to a rescue partner!💗

This is just the beginning of a large-scale effort at this location to improve the lives of this colony of cats. If you would like to help, donations toward food and veterinary expenses are greatly appreciated. Every dollar helps provide care for these cats and supports this important project.

Update on Mustache, the sweet kitty found outside with injuries:

Unfortunately, the wonderful vet team at Allied Vet in Stewartville determined that Mustache had suffered head trauma, along with an internal infection that was causing symptoms similar to a broken leg. He was also experiencing neurological issues, likely caused by the head trauma, the infection, or a combination of both.

After discussing his condition with the veterinary team, we made the heartbreaking decision that humane euthanasia was the kindest option for our sweet boy. We are incredibly grateful that he is no longer suffering or in pain.

Our amazing volunteer, Kathy, and her son stayed with Mustache through every last moment and lovingly prayed him over the rainbow bridge. He knew warmth, comfort, and love in the end.

We were able to FULLY cover the remaining balance for his veterinary care and cremation costs❤️‍🩹 We so so appreciate our dedicated supporters who show up by army when we need them. Thank you to everyone who has donated, shared, and cared about this little soul!

A stray cat was spotted Friday, and after several attempts to safely trap him for medical care, this sweet kitty was finally caught today and is now on the way to the emergency vet. The cat appears to have a serious eye injury and possibly a broken leg.

We desperately need help for a colony of cats and kittens at a local trailer park. Over the last few weeks, we’ve taken in multiple sick kittens suffering from severe upper respiratory infections, fleas, and horribly infected eyes. Some may even lose their eyes if treatment doesn’t turn this situation around.

These babies are far too young to be this sick, and many will not survive without intervention. We have saved the ones we can catch, but how many more are hidden by feral mamas? One of the most heartbreaking moments was finding a tiny sick kitten near its deceased sibling, and despite our efforts, that kitten has now also passed away.

We are hoping to do full TNR for the colony while also covering mounting medical bills for the kittens already suffering, but we cannot do it alone.

Meow! Meow! My name is Sammy Sosa and I am on the search for my furever home. I was first noticed at a TNR site in November of 2025 as a cat that did not immediately run away when approached. I was trapped on 12/13/2025 before the cold snap. Since then, I have REALLY found my personality and am told I am the best boy around. I love pets, talking, treats and toys! I get along with everyone- humans, cats, and dogs! Though, I am hesitant of human males.

As a rescue, Sammy Sosa will be slow to warm, skittish to loud noises and quick movements. His foster family shares Sammy really followed the 3 days, 3 weeks, and 3 months adjustment period to a tee. He will NEED a patient, quiet, and kind home to continue to grow his personality. Sammy would love a home that already has furry friends for him to play with and snuggle.
