Congratulations to the Texas Army National Guard on their victory at this year’s Best Warrior Competition.

Maj. Gen. Thomas Suelzer, The Adjutant General of Texas, presented the Texas Military Department Adjutant General’s Trophy to MG Monie Ulis and CSM Jose Escobedo in recognition of the Texas Army National Guard’s outstanding performance.

The Best Warrior Competition highlights the skill, discipline, leadership, and dedication of our Soldiers across the force. This victory is a strong reflection of the professionalism and readiness of the Texas Army National Guard.

Well done to all who competed and represented their units with pride.

NGAT CONFERENCE GOLF WINNERS

Congratulations to this year’s golf tournament winners:

🏆 1st Place: “Par-Timers”
Also recognized as the Stars and Stripes Winner for being the top All Military Team. On behalf of the NGAT Educational Foundation, their team won $400.

The tournament also raised an additional $270 for the NGAT Educational Foundation.

NGAT was proudly represented by MSgt Angela Matthews, NGAT President-Elect, at a special recognition reception hosted by the National Guard Educational Foundation in Washington, D.C.

The event honored new members of the Legion de Lafayette, a giving society that helps preserve National Guard history and support educational efforts.

NGAT contributed $10,000 toward a proposed exhibit in the National Guard Memorial Museum’s World War II gallery highlighting the 36th Infantry Division.

Brought forward by MG (Ret) James K. “Red” Brown, the exhibit will help share the legacy, service, and sacrifice of the 36th Infantry Division, Texas’ historic “T-Patchers,” with a national audience.

NGAT proudly congratulates CSM (Ret) Donna Balderston, the 2026 NGAT Minuteman Award recipient.

This honor recognizes her lifelong leadership, selfless service, and unwavering commitment to NGAT, EANGUS, and the Texas National Guard community. After more than 30 years of military service, she has continued to serve as a dedicated advocate, mentor, and supporter of service members, retirees, and their families.

NGAT proudly congratulates former employee CPT Adrienne Williams on graduating from the Travis County ESD #2 Firefighter Academy on April 25, 2026.

Adrienne served as NGAT’s Administrative Assistant from November 2021 through August 2025. After completing the academy’s intensive seven-month program, she is now beginning her career as a state-certified firefighter and EMT.

She is pictured with her brother, CPT (Ret) Caleb Williams, an NGAT Life Member, as they celebrate this outstanding achievement.
