This year, we received hundreds of applications from students nationwide, each one reflecting dedication, resilience, leadership, and a commitment to their communities. After multiple rounds of review, we are proud to recognize this outstanding group of students for their hard work and achievements. We are deeply grateful to Texas Association of School Boards for partnering with MASBA and continuing to invest in the future of our students. : On May 20, the Jim Hogg ISD Board of Trustees named Susan Douglas as the lone finalist for the position of superintendent. Douglas currently serves as principal in Ramirez CISD.

The Jim Hogg ISD board is scheduled to vote to hire Douglas after the 21-day waiting period required by state law.

Students at Klein ISDโ€™s Greenwood Forest Elementary received more than encouragement โ€” they experienced the power of a caring community. Ahead of STAAR testing, hundreds of handwritten notes from across Texas and beyond lifted up third- through fifth-grade students, reminding them they are supported, capable, and not alone. What started as a simple idea turned into a powerful moment of connection for students โ€” proof that small acts of kindness can make a big difference.
