At Good Work Austin, we stand with Starbucks Workers United () as they fight for a fair contract, better wages, and safer working conditions.

Starbucks workers themselves have called for a boycott, and we're standing in solidarity! With five unionized Starbucks stores in Austin, this fight is happening right here in our community. As an organization that supports both workers and small, locally owned businesses, we encourage you to grab your next coffee from a locally owned shop instead. ❤️

Today is the day! Applications are officially open for Good Work Austin’s Healthcare Access Program.

If you work in Austin’s food and beverage industry, you may qualify for help getting affordable health insurance. This year, we’ve expanded the program to:

• Serve more food and beverage workers
• Include workers living outside of Travis County
• Accept households earning up to 400% of the Federal Poverty Level

Our Healthcare Access Program helps food and beverage workers access affordable health coverage and support navigating the enrollment process.

We’re incredibly grateful to be a 2026 grantee of the Austin W**e & Food Foundation and to see firsthand their investment in Austin’s food and beverage community.

That’s why we’re excited to celebrate their 40th Annual W**e Auction & Gala Weekend on November 6 & 7! 🍷

This incredible weekend brings together w**e lovers, chefs, sommeliers, and supporters of Austin’s hospitality community for two days of exceptional food, w**e, and fundraising. This year’s featured w**emaker is Christopher Carpenter of Cardinale, La Jota, and Lokoya.

While we’re always excited about a great meal and a bottle of w**e, what we love most is what this weekend makes possible. We need your help spreading the word!

Good Work Austin is officially expanding our Healthcare Access Program from 25 to 110 food and beverage workers this year.

That means 85 more workers will have access to support paying for their health insurance premiums, including eligible workers in Travis, Bastrop, Caldwell, Hays, and Williamson Counties.

When we launched this program last year, we wanted to help food and beverage workers access affordable healthcare and learn more about what they need to stay healthy and financially secure. What we heard from participants made it clear just how meaningful this support can be.

For some, it meant finally getting preventive care they had put off for years. For others, it meant being able to afford medications or see a doctor without worrying about missing work or paying a bill they couldn't afford.

Now, we want to make sure every eligible food and beverage worker who could benefit from this program knows about it.

This is where we need our community's help.
