Bat City Archery Bat City Archery is a nonprofit (501 c 3) organization dedicated to bringing the timeless sport of archery to schools that lack established programs.

Our mission is to empower students through the discipline, focus, and confidence that archery fosters.

Coach Solomon started coaching 4 years ago with a group of fifth-grade archers. Now, he’s helped guide teams to 4 straight state and national championships. Fundamentals come first, then consistency under pressure, and finally, performance. Archery is a main way he practices calm on purpose. He’s proudest watching kids realize they can do hard things when they regulate their bodies and focus their minds.

“My coaching style is simple and structured. I focus on breathing and pacing: deep breath, slow the heartbeat, keep the shoulders relaxed, and make every shot feel like the same shot. If someone starts chasing the target, we reset: posture, anchor, breath, aim, expand, follow-through. At the end of the day, I’m not just trying to make better archers; I’m teaching them how to mentally deal with failure and be better for it.” - Solomon
