Over the past several years Tony Holt and I, through our Austin Custom Homebuilding Company Zbranek & Holt Custom Homes, have donated and raised money for several local charities. This included the sale and construction of three charity home projects. The first home raised money for the Lake Travis Education Foundation. The next one dedicated earned profits to the Lake Travis Youth Organization. Most recently our team completed a multi-million-dollar home in Seven Oaks benefitting the Center for Child Protection. These successful projects provided much needed funds to local organizations staffed by mostly volunteers for a charitable cause.
Last fall we attended the Black & White Ball, designed to raise much needed revenue for the Texas Advocacy Project ( TAP ). This organization exists to support battered women and children throughout Texas in need of legal or financial support at a desperate time. After learning of TAP and their mission, we decided to make this organization the beneficiary of the next Zbranek & Holt Custom Homes Charity Home Project. We have met with the leaders of TAP and put the wheels in motion for our next “Miracle Home”. The plan is that sometime during 2024 our team and the volunteers at TAP will promote this project with the goal of locating a special family to build a new home with us, with a significant portion of the proceeds from their home going to the TAP. Once identified, the new owners will become part of our combined team to design and build the Texas Advocacy Project Home of Distinction. Our experience has shown that many vendors are eager to participate in these projects and that the owners benefit from custom finishes and a predictable construction schedule. If the family is introduced to us by a Realtor, that agent will also become part of our team and will be involved in the many events leading up to and during the show of this Home of Distinction when completed.
Tony and Kristin Holt, and Sue Zbranek and I are excited to give back to the community we call home in this way. Together, we will share our talents with a larger group to help raise funds for the much-needed work of the Texas Advocacy Project.
